He was drafted in late round in 2024. Missed good portion of this year due to hand injury, which is why he was sent Arizona Fall League. With his age couldn’t afford basically a lost season. Think he played only about 60 games this season.Isn’t Ayers 25 years old
I’m glad the Cubs didn’t pay that kind f money. Not a winning deal in the long run.
They are probably going to trade prospects for established guys and then not resign them. Eventually the farm will suck and so will the team. Just my lifelong Cub fan optimism coming out.I’m glad the Cubs didn’t pay that kind f money. Not a winning deal in the long run.
Check out his record for '25. Pitching in a "pitcher's park" in San Diego, he had over a 4.00ERA and a losing record. He only pitches well...against the Cubs!I’m glad the Cubs didn’t pay that kind f money. Not a winning deal in the long run.
Nor should they.
Nice pay day for himFor those dreaming of Schwarber — back to Philly.
That was always going to happen. He just needed to ask around to find the number they needed to give him.For those dreaming of Schwarber — back to Philly.

Haha! I bet that was a short call... I'd guess Cincy, NYM, or Boston set the market. I wouldn't be surprised if the Mets made him a similar offer just knowing the Phils would match it.He sure didn't find that number in Pittsburgh.
Well Cease would have just cost money, while Greene will take players to acquire — good ones and likely not just prospects. I believe he’s under control for 4 seasons at a very reasonable salary. I think starting point for Reds well could be Caissie. Would they take Alcantara instead and who else would Cubs have to give up? But honestly, I have my doubts that Greene will be traded. All this talk about the Cubs goi g after a quality starter. Then why is there no chatter about Jed talking to the Reds about Hunter Greene. He is better than Dylan Crase in my opinion and he owned the Cubs last year in one start I vividly remember
To me, this guy has always made the most sense for us. AS an organization, the Cubs have always been more willing than most to bet big on Japanese talent. (...and not just can't miss types) Hopefully, we can make it happen.
Looks like ol Tommy found a few nickels in the couch cushions to spend on the roster
That settles it. I'm getting season tickets.
It’s a minor leaguer deal. Geez.Looks like ol Tommy found a few nickels in the couch cushions to spend on the roster
