my hats off to you diehards that continue to pay to watch . I haven’t had Marquee for two years so I’m limited to national tv or cubs-sox games

right now I refuse to go in person or pay the monthly nut to get frustrated

I’m sad that a whole new generation of POTENTIAL fans can’t watch for free . As a lad , I did from 1969-1982 and it was great

I didn’t hear Palencia went back on the injured list until the fourth inning tonight. And now Cabrera has to leave, probably because of his blister. I just don’t think it’s gonna happen for the Cubs this season.

Couldn't take any more after the 7th inning.
Another day at the office.
Palencia to IL. Cabrera will probably follow.
0-8 w/RISP after 7 innings.
Swanson will have to have a 10 game hitting streak if he wants to get up to the Mendoza line.
Hoerner continues to fall off a cliff.
Couple more outs and we'll be 8 games out.
My dislike for this team is growing leaps and bounds daily.

I would send Ballesteros down to Iowa but I don’t know who in the hell you would bring up. I’ve seen enough of Alcantera.

Ten games out on the loss column. It’s all about the wild card now. Cards and Phillies starting to put some distance between them and the rest of the WC hopefuls. Cubs are in the muck with the Nats, D-Backs, and Padres. Could we also just start Ramirez for a week and sit either Swanson or Hoerner day to day and see what happens?

I guess it would be hard to bench Swanson after Hoyer’s comments yesterday. I’m seeing this morning he has the lowest BA in the modern era with at least 265 plate appearances. I just don’t see how you can live with this with so many other guys struggling.

My guess is that his competitors for this coveted title didn't make $177 MIL for 7 years.

Swanson’s bat speed has digressed greatly which is the problem. He has to sit. I have no idea what Nico’s problem is. I said it then, Bregman was a bad signing. Our infield is the worst hitting infield in baseball. It will be hard to blow up this team with all the no trade clauses in place. Where we go from here is the unknown. No ready to play guys at Iowa. We do need to blow up the scouting department. We have developed no one other than Shaw and Brown at this point. We are in the Abyss.

Yeah. Shaw needs to be playing 2nd base everyday. Nico and Dansby could both use some days off to figure it out. Rotate them every other day until someone starts to show some signs of life...

Nico hasn't had a month this bad in...ever? He didn't have a month last year where he hit under .283. He's hitting .187 since the beginning of May...2 hits in his last 26 ABs... He hasn't hit under .230 in a month since May of 23'.

Probably not a good thing when you have the worst guy in runners left on base. Not sure how to describe it when you have the top two, #7 (Suzuki) and #14 (Busch).

I’m trying to look at it in a different way. To have so many guys up way too high on that list means Cubs have been putting men on base. Past performances tell me Happ, Bregman and Hoyer are not going to continue to play this bad all season. Swanson is the only one I’m not so sure that his numbers will normalize, but have to think even he has an uptick. At least that’s how I hope it goes.

You think his 16 HRs leading to only 37 RBI is crazy, I just noticed that Byron Buxton has 23 HRs and only 36 RBI. Batting mostly leadoff certainly accounts for some of that, still seems wild to me.

Swanny needs to be in the lineup. I just wish he would try to hit to the opposite field more.
