He leads the planet in WAR, he gets to balls that no other player in baseball can get within 5 feet of, he's going to win the platinum glove(and it won't be close) and he's got a shot for 40/40. The only reason that Ohtani is even close to him in WAR is because he's pitched this year and right now, he isn't even doing that.
All that said, there's over a month of regular season ball left. He could totally wet the bed and render the discussion moot. However, if the season ended today, there absolutely a 0% chance that he doesn't win MVP.
If he goes into a 5 for 50 slump....blame this post.
