Two bad ABS challenges and a dumb challenge by Counsell on the obviously safe steal in the second. What are these guys doing?

The sad reality is, this Cubs team is the most obvious sitting duck in the playoffs you're ever going to see.
The Padres are going to bring in yet another guy throwing 237 mph in every single moment they get into any trouble, whereas the Cubs will never have a matchup they have any confidence in against the middle of that order after the first inning.
Offenses win divisions (so long as the Milwaukee Rays aren't in your division) but premium arm stockpiling wins championships.
In the last 8 games the Cubs were 2 for 66 w/RISPWe should either stop at first or keep running until we are tagged out. We absolutely sieze up with RISP.
Agreed. Felt a lot like the 2007 Cubs with a mediocre team that made the playoffs and got handled with ease in the playoffs. It'll be an interesting offseason with a lockout looming and a roster that will look much different in 2027 or 2028.Disappointing but we all expected it. They were essentially a .500 team the last three quarters of the season and a bad team the final month plus. Two weeks ago if you told me Holmes wouldn’t even make an appearance in the wildcard series I would have said you’re nuts.
That's no very good, right? In the last 8 games the Cubs were 2 for 66 w/RISP
Very close to perfect, but not quite there. That's no very good, right?
Impossible to believe it if I didn't actually watch it unfold. In the last 8 games the Cubs were 2 for 66 w/RISP
Any chance the Cubs seriously pursue Skubal in free agency, or am I being silly?
There will be many speculative articles "connecting Skubal to the Cubs" which will generate plenty of clicks and advertising revenue for sports writers/gossipers, but I'd put the chances of him signing with the Cubs at under 1%.Any chance the Cubs seriously pursue Skubal in free agency, or am I being silly?
Many different players over the years. Organizational flaw. The Cubs have played 23 playoff games since 2017. In those games they scored 3,3,2,0,9,2,1,1,3,1,1,1,0,3,0,3,3,3,4,6,1,0, and 1 run. That's 51 runs over 23 games for an average of 2.2. In 11 out of the 23 they were either shutout or scored 1 run. If you take out the 9 and 6 run games that's 36 runs over the other 21 games for an average of 1.7. Are these the vagaries of chance or an organizational flaw?
