If anyone is watching the national title game and has ESPNNews, there is a "coaches film room" broadcast that is awesome. It's a lineup of big time coaches watching the All-22 film and breaking it down in real time.

Dino Babers is awesome, Mike MacIntyre is really smart, and Dave Doeren has absolutely nothing to say.

I watched briefly. Pretty much Addazio talking 90% of the time.

I like the commentary, but I struggle to watch the game with that split screen.

Can you even imagine Beckman in this setting?

Oh, and there's a game going on too. Bama is good. Clemson is also pretty good.

Does anyone really care who wins this game unless you're an Alabama or Clemson fan? Maybe a little if you're a fan of an SEC or ACC team? I find it to be a contrived college version of the Super Bowl. It lacks the authenticity of the Rose Bowl or other traditional games. It also is a game probably 85% of the eligible teams will never make. For the Illini to win 8 games or so, have a big win or so during the season and make a good Bowl would provide me with far greater satisfaction than what happens in this game.

In no sport does the championship matter less than college football. One of the many beautiful things about it.

Jay Bilas's thoughts on ESPNU are way more entertaining than the coaches room. Too bad Walton is dressed up like Uncle Sam and ruining it.

Is it just me, or does anyone else see Hunter Renfrow as a Patriot in the future?

Good game! No Bama! Talk about an awesome offense. Clemson is wearing down the Bama defense and some great calls by Clemson. Hey Illinois coaches getting some ideas on offense?

Not meaning it in a racial way, just one of those quick, but not necessarily ridiculously fast receivers he likes.

SWEEET! My brother-in-law is probably running around the block screaming down home in SC.

Best championship game since Texas USC? I thought for sure Watson would run one in on the final drive ala Vince Young.
