I'm going to need to step away, first a bunch of posts by @jamarvelous31 praising Purdue (and making a lot of sense in doing so, much as that hurts me to say) and now a blow-by-blow recount of the most painful memory of my sports life.I mean, sure, that one would have worked but it wasn't "just" that one open shot. Head tied it with a three at 2:38, and the partisan Illini crowd went wild ... still an awesome memory for me, even though we lost.
1. Head missed an open three at 2:02 that would have given us a 3-point lead. It bounced out of bounds, UNC ball.
2. After UNC scored to go up 72-70, Head missed a WIDE open three that would have given us a 1-point lead at 1:08. However, Ingram got the rebound. We then called a timeout.
3. Williams missed a wide open three at 55 seconds, but it bounced out of bounds off UNC, and we got the ball back.
4. Head turned it over around 33 seconds, but UNC only made one of two free throws, so we were still down 73-70 with 25 seconds to go. The one you are probably thinking of was with 18 seconds left where Head missed a VERY wide open three that could have tied it at 73. UNC got the ball, made both free throws, and it was over.
We had a TON of opportunities.

I didn’t appreciate the roster details. Thanks for explainingHe lost his 2 best players in late summer for the year ... He had to bring in 11 new guys ... And he took a group of guys last year that Travis Steele could not even get into the tournament to the sweet 16 in his first year ... He's been to 4 elite 8s ... I mean what more do you want ...
And it's no secret that I have been friends with Sean a long time ... But the guys a winner and would kill it here ...
