Just curious. If Frans were willing to crawl to Ann Arbor, why didn’t he be already at Columbus (by crawling) since rumor says Iowa doesn’t want to extend him?

Michigan basketball history >>>>> Ohio State basketball history

I think it's not necessarily about history. Based on the perceived resources, Iowa to OSU feels like a lateral move. However, if based on the rumors that Iowa is not extending Frans and he is desperate, why doesn't Frans consider a lateral move anyway?

That's not true at all?

tOSU has more Final Fours, more B1G titles and the same number of national titles.

Looks like I was off, for whatever reason it feels like they've had more success than Ohio State besides that meteoric run with Oden/Conley.

I'm the same way, I think it's because Ohio State recently hasn't been consistently elite during the same periods when Illinois has been (other than the 20-21 season).

I could very easily see Ohio State deciding that they just didn't want to go down that path. It takes two to make a deal.

OSU had a sitting interim coach who has done a really good job since taking over. If OSU felt very good about Diebler, then I could see them taking a big swing at their top 1-2 choices and then saying "we're good" if those two didn't pan out for any reason.

It's entirely plausible for OSU to say that between someone like Fran McCaffrey and a sitting interim who did well that they'd choose Door #2. Honestly, if I were in the OSU AD chair I'd probably pick Diebler as well knowing what I know.

Would be pretty good timing for one of our own to get promoted to HC ...
Any D1 programs potentially looking at Chester as a HC option?

EDIT: Not that I'd be hoping to get rid of Chester, my ideal situation is Chester goes to a mid major, excels for a few years, then can come back to the beloved when Brad moves on or retires.

Keith Dambrot is retiring from Duquesne at the end of this season. I don’t expect Chester Frazier to be the next Dukes coach, but he could benefit from this job’s dominoes falling.
