^^^I would like the 10 minutes of my life back that I just spent figuring out that UIndy is University of Indianapolis and not some weird shorthand for Indiana University (which I assumed is what Rothstein meant and that this Corsaro fella was an Asst. Coach there or something -- yes, I now realize he probably would have said "IndyU's" if that were the case) and then that IU Indianapolis is the same as IUPUI. Wtf!

Univ of Indianapolis is a private school and is not affiliated with IU .

On the other hand, you learned something new, and in only 10 minutes!

IUPUI is in the process of splitting into IU Indianapolis and PU Indianapolis. No more Ewe-E-Poo-E.

I know. I do college counseling as part of my job.

And it's actually a really nice school and a great concept. The twisting of the pronunciation makes no sense to me in that light

May be wishful thinking on my part, but I’d love to see the dominoes from Drake result in a head job for Chester and/or Alexander. I think Drake is a desirable mid-major job. The Valley is a good basketball conference. There are worse places to live than Des Moines. DeVries has left the program much better than he found it. I won’t be surprised at all to see a lower-major head coach step up into this role, which would leave an opening that may be more aligned with an assistant making the jump.
Slightly OT, but I am adamantly against being a geography snob (I think Americans should become much better at treating different states and regions with the curiosity and inherent dignity/respect you would while traveling to a different country and encountering different landscapes, accents, cultures, etc.), and I cannot agree with this more! My parents now live 50% of the time in Des Moines, and it is a very underrated city. Clean, accessible and plenty to do for a city its size.

Then you should really feel for my son, who when he was younger and IUPUI was in the tourney, I convinced him that they were the IUPUI Ooowies.

The "Ew Ee Poo EE" Ooowies. :ROFLMAO:

Now I watch Rick and Morty's Mr. Poopybutthole and laugh even harder.

If I'm remembering correctly, don't they have a bar with 300+ taps (or something equally crazy) and a really great BBQ joint?

Growing up in Chicago, I absolutely was that kind of snob. Living in Champaign for four years helped me (as did having roommates who grew up on farms and helped me understand a way of life I've never wanted to live, but have a greater appreciation for now) expand my thinking a bit, as did the year my husband and I split between Chicago and Atlanta.

We make it a point now to visit different cities/regions in the country (usually centered around breweries, soon to be centered on ballparks), and it really is a lot of fun. There's a lot to the States that so many people miss because they're not willing to explore or give it a chance.

My thing with defending IUPUI is that they give kids from lower income families an honest-to-God opportunity to go to school out of state if they want to see what it's like outside of Illinois and get a decent degree, not unlike going to UIC instead of UIUC in order to save some money. Working primarily in Title I schools, that matters.

Add to it the fact that they're not really a rival, it feels like punching down a few weight classes to me is all.

The beer bar is El Bait Shop. We went a few years ago and it was pretty impressive. The food was good too. It was ranked in the top 100 bars in the US when we went.

I have absolutely no inside information but I cannot believe, under any circumstances, that would be the direction Louisville would go.
They have talked multiple times. Also do you think Louisville really wanted to fire Rick? No they just had no choice.

I assume the true difference makers that we intend on signing to replace TSJ, Marcus and Coleman are all players that have not only entered the portal, but also the NBA draft, so that we will not know who they are until 10 days after conclusion of the NBA draft combine, which is when players must withdraw their names form the draft and keep their eligibility, correct? That won't be until sometime in late May/early June I believe. So although a Davis signing as a role player would be nice, the reality is that we will need to impatiently wait for almost two months before the new star replacement ILLINI players are signed?
