From my perspective, you've lost a little of that "mysteryio" mystique with this post. I do wonder what the 2525 represents, so there is that....
It's my job to reveal a little... withdraw and then build up the intrigue. It's the timeless art of drawing you in but keeping you at arms length. Kind of like following this coaching carousel

Apologize for a quick off topic post:

Dan I really enjoyed the answers/discussion I got back in yesterdays thread. I didn’t respond to anyone because I didn’t want to completely derail the thread (and hope this post doesn’t do that).

Have you ever considered of having a separate section of the board for such conversation? On other forums I’ve seen them called “The Lounge”, “The Tavern”, etc. just a place where off topic discussion can be redirected and carried out. (Not that we ever drift too far off topic here…)
Hold on, We have to stay on topic?

Stay in Lexington, move Arkansas, move back to Champaign. I think at end of day Orlando wants to get paid, be successful recruiting, and be part of successful program. I am sure he would love another chance at HC but he would have to give up some money. I doubt KY or ARK would ever promote him to HC. I wonder about Illinois.

I gotta get out more- I’ve never known there was anything beyond the Basketball and Football tabs
Take some advice from a wizened old veteran of the Illinois Loyalty board.... If you are a daily consumer of posts hereabouts.... just click on the New Posts tab every time you log on it's up there ^^^^^ between 'Forums' and 'Illini Basketball' .... I always scroll to the bottom of the results (oldest unread posts) and work my way up. Look for the blurb 'Threads below have not been updated since your last visit'. Anything above that is unread. Then just click on the thread title, and it will automatically take you to oldest unread post and off you go!!! Of course you will need to get 'caught up' on posts for my method to work best... Once current, you will get every post in every thread in the top of the results. Good luck!

Matt Jones the guy who wrote the article quoted. I don't know his connection to either coach he was writing about.
We don't have a sort of media svengali power broker like that in Illini Nation, which is probably a good thing.

Loren Tate is from a totally different era and media environment and Werner/Piper don't have that PT Barnum in them.

But that's what Matt Jones is, the self-styled grand poobah insider of all things Kentucky hoops.

Kind of a southern thing. The Texas schools all seem to have guys like that.

I thought it was a mistake and Indy meant that Mark Pope is letting OA stay on staff until June 30th to get his retention bonus

Still no formal announcement from Michigan on Michael Boynton actually having reached a written agreement to be on Dusty May's staff as an Assistant Coach. Perhaps the reason why is simple: money. According to Dusty May's hiring announcement, "Michigan's pool for assistant coach salaries is $1.2 million, though that is subject to review, for three (3) on-court assistants."
For further perspective, former Michigan Assistant Coach Phil Martelli, who was universally considered to be a very good college hoops assistant coach and certainly a much better game coach then his boss Juwan Howard, was only making a base salary of $468,000 with a potential bonus of $67,500 last year after 4 years at Michigan. Can May actually pay Boynton's actual market value given the current budget limitations and will AD Warde Manuel pony up the money?
Any doubt that Whitman would come up with $900,000+ for Brad to add Boynton to his staff, especially if Dana won't agree for OA to return to Champaign-Urbana?
