Hoiberg is not safe in Lincoln …

They’re gonna see if they can upgrade and who’d be interested and if they can get a commitment from the guy they want, I think they’ll pull the trigger …
I think Hoiberg needs to adjust and try to recruit some more athleticism but I really don't see Nebraska being able to upgrade.

Though I think very highly of Hoiberg so who knows. I think it's just Nebraska is a very tough basketball job.

Yeah, I assume you're right! Definitely didn't think about that! I was considering the 5 AC's OA, Geoff, Hamer, Tyler and Kwa, but I bet Kwa was just a fill in once TA stepped away. Good call.

Correct … Kwa was only temporary for this season …

Unless there’s another staff change (I do think the odds are good there will be at least 1) … We will only be hiring 1 new assistant …

If Barnes retires … I think it’d be Sean Miller, Will Wade or Kim English for Tennessee …
Will Wade seems like a natural fit for Tennessee. I have to think under the radar discussions are taking place with Barnes to see if he's done after this season and, if he is, that people are talking with Wade.

English in Knoxville would be wild after getting run out of Providence
This would be like Vincent Kompany getting Burnley relegated and then taking the Bayern Munich job for those of you who are soccer fans.

Texas …

I’m hearing that not so quiet list of candidates to replace Terry is down to 5 …

Will Wade, Sean Miller, Royal Ivey, Quin Snyder, Brad Underwood …
If that’s the exact order, I have no worries that Brad would end up in Austin. Even if Wade, Miller and Ivey said no, I’m pretty sure Snyder would say “yes, yes, a thousand times YES!!!”

Nope, don't like this at all. There needs to be a minimum of 2 changes, in my opinion. Hammer & Kwa.
Here's my biggest question, and I'm guessing only the insiders will really be able to answer it - who drove the tactical changes on defense, particularly on how to defend ball screens?

If ANYONE on the staff had to step in and drive that change, then there is zero reason to retain Hamer. That's supposedly his baby. It's no different when you see a head coach step in and call plays in football, whether on defense or offense. If Hamer is the defensive game planner and someone else had to correct the issues, then there is no choice but to move on.

We have not been very good defensively all season. More than that, until the last several games there were no discernible adjustments to attempt to improve things. So if Underwood, Alexander, or Antigua came in and drove these changes (I'm assuming Tyler continued his work on the offense, but if he did have these ideas I'll give him credit), then what value does Hamer provide to the staff?

If Hamer was the one who drove these changes, I'll happily reconsider things. But I would be very surprised if that was the case. But, as I've said a lot on here, I've been wrong before and will be again.

Wouldn't the bigger issue be if Snyder wanted to continue staying in NBA mid-table purgatory or decided to jump before he was pushed? The Hawks and Bulls have been the walking definitions of "mediocre" the last few seasons.
