I think if Miller leaves X, then Mack could end up there or he could end up at Wake. Lots of coaching moves this offseason.

Del Conte is praying they start losing … He got stuck with Terry when he didn’t want him and it’s happening again …

If Miller leaves Xavier … I’ll be SHOCKED if it’s not Mack …

With the exception of 3 years in Italy and 4 years in Houston, I spent the bulk of my adult life living in snow country (NH, IL, OH, IN, AK, ND). By far the places I lived with the worst weather were in the Upper Midewest. If you watch the winter weather for Minneapolis, Detroit, & Chicago, they are usually colder than Anchorage, Alaska (I lived there for almost 17 years). The winters are longer in Anchorage, but the temps are worse in the upper Midwest. And while I loved my time in ND due to the outstanding bird hunting opportunities, my wife believes the state should be encircled with concertina wire and declared a buffalo preserve.

Minnesota with the ruthless dismissal of Ben Johnson. Their AD is delusional. This is not on Ben Johnson. This is on their athletic program for not having enough NIL to compete with the big boys. No "established" coach will be going there until that athletic program changes their mindset. They seem to do alright in football but need to make their basketball program more of a priority. They'll probably try to find a decent mid major candidate who wants to try out going up against the big boys

I agree Johnson got a raw deal, but such is the life of a college basketball head coach. And you do realize Ben Johnson wasn’t an “established coach” (or at least not HC) when he was hired. I highly doubt Minny fired him with the thought that they’d poach a sitting P5 HC. There are a relatively select group of schools that can do that. Last year, there were 13 openings at P5 schools and only 4 were filled by sitting P5 head coaches. The rest were filled by a HC whose team was losing Power status, an interim coach who was an AC, a fired P5 coach and 6 mid major HCs. Two of those that hired mid major coaches are in the BIG.

Of course Minny will be looking to mid majors. Nico Medved, who is rumored as a top candidate and who I believe Indy mentioned, is an established mid major HC. If he gets hired, will he do better? I don’t know, but unless things change with that program he will have a tough road. Again, that’s the life of a college head coach.

I wonder how greedy hockey is in the NIL space.
