I would have felt less confident in Brad if we lost the first game but I can live with a loss to Kentucky in the second round in a year where we replaced essentially the entire roster. Fire Hamer and we’re good.

And I keep thinking what could have been if Tomi did not get sick/injured in January. He lost body weight and his conditioning never fully recovered.
In the 2nd halves of many games down the stretch, Tomi looked gassed. Given what he went through, it is not all that surprising. It just felt that everything played smoother with Tomi.
I truly believe this team would be second weekend without a doubt, had Tomi stayed healthy all year. A summer to get his body recovered with Fletch will do wonders. We were talking about Final 4 talent in January before injuries/illnesses. Depending on how we do in the portal, I believe this team can compete for third weekend of tourney (assuming the core of Tomi, Boz, Rez, and Tre come back).
A middle school coach who can help us better defend the screen out front would be an upgrade
Here’s to hoping he’s entering the transfer portal tomorrow. At least I’m hoping coaches can do that

True, but there's enough smoke on who will return and who will fill out the remainder of the roster to make this claim. I'd say the youth movement didn't work as well as planned.

Any additional news/rumors on some of the possible retirements? I'm not going to lie - if we saw a scenario where Barnes retires, Underwood goes to Tennessee because Whitman tells Underwood he needs to make staff changes and Underwood says he'd rather leave than do that, and then Whitman hires Chris Beard, I'm not going to be overly upset about it.
