agreed. How is this job better then alabama right now?
Nate Oats is one hell of a coach. He will be familiar with the midwest since he's from Wisconsin and I heard he used to be on the staff of either Michigan or Michigan State early in his coaching career. However, he probably going to be Kansas new coach. Self doesn't have that much time left in coaching and his retirement is nearing. Nate doesn't have to wait that long.

Ok, historic was wrong. But, after Donovan left, they haven’t been a national threat until now
While NIL is talked about a lot, I feel like overall financial health is ignored and I think our university's financial situation is a very real turn-off. The athletic department is servicing around $300M in debt.

Oates spoke explicitly about not being able to compete against Big East schools that are BB only, because FB soaks up all the NIL of schools with both programs. Is the distribution for BB here any better than AL, or will the Big East be where talent accrues, and coaches jump?
Better conference, I would assume better facilities.
