Chester hates IU … He would never ever work there … Wouldn't even consider it … That’s the majority of the reason …

Do I think Chester would’ve stayed at WVU even if DeVries stayed … No … And it’s not really think … I know Chester would’ve left … Lol …

It’s not a coincidence literally only 1 assistant and 1 player (his own son) followed DeVries to IU …
Is there any chance of TA coming back if we increase the $ or is that bridge permanently burned?

Pin this to every post from the two “insiders” who get bent out of shape every time someone dare question their info, despite them being wrong a healthy amount.

There have to be a few exceptions

And that was football. I think there is a bball buyout too much for them. Might have donors who CAN afford it, but will they do it?
That's where I'm at with it. Texas and A&M are pretty similar in this area. They have infinitely deep pockets and are happy to spend whatever for football, but have yet to show anything close to that willingness for basketball. IDK if we were ever given an idea of the type of offer UT had for Brad, but whatever it was and however large I would imagine it was worth, Brad turned it down.

Brad presumably has a number he'd take for a job that isn't an upgrade from Illinois (UT and A&M are lateral at best IMO, A&M maybe even a slight downgrade), but if UT wasn't willing to open the wallet to reach that number, I'm doubtful A&M will either, especially with Beard on the table for them.

Again tho, IDK anything about UT's offer to Brad beyond reading on here that he turned it down. Maybe it had nothing to do with money. Even if it did, the main point still stands. I don't think they're willing to pony up the money in basketball like they would be for football.

Not a face off …

Brad’s people do their job and listen to offers on Brad’s behalf … A&M will talk to them as they should … Brad’s a great candidate for them and would be a home run …

Brad’s people will use it as leverage to try and get him an extension and a raise …

It’s simple business …
If Nate Oats is really looking to get out of Alabama, I'd be careful about what I asked for after a fairly disappointing season.

Sign me up for being a #2 seed and losing in the elite 8 for my disappointing years. Dude has their only final four, 2/3 of their elite 8s and 25 of their sweet 16s. I think he can ask for darn near whatever he wants.
I think Bash is talking about Underwood being careful about what he's asking for because Nate Oats might be available for the right price (although that's extremely unlikely).

The word here is that's actually not the case and he's not happy having to deal with lack of resources / staff money
