Agreed on otz in the big ten.im not sure on the buyout article didn't fully elaborate on it. I do think Ohio state could have a bigger war chest and frankly a better history then Iowa state.itd shake the big ten up alot if otz did take the osu job I think hes a great coach

Self is close to retiring, Pope is hanging on by a thread and wouldn't think that Davis' seat is overly comfortable. If they get knocked out in the first round, it might get really uncomfortable.

Depends on what you mean by highly qualified. Certainly won’t be getting someone the average fan will have heard of, but I think they can get a sitting head coach from a smaller conference out west if that is direction they want to go. Need someone to inject some enthusiasm into the program.
I genuinely think the biggest factor for Otzelberger is the relationship with the AD. He has a FANTASTIC relationship with Jamie Pollard at Iowa State. It’s right up there with the Bielema/Whitman relationship, if not better. I don’t think he leaves unless he has a “heck yes” feeling that he’ll have an AD that supports him.
