youngblood has positioned himself very, very well. he's gonna have HC options. guessing he's gonna leave the nest
will add that I think that's a great idea, because he needs to be in charge and build a track record
Does Bennett leave because the WCC is imploding and turning into a one bid league most likely? They need to get into the new PAC-12.Kansas State search is a mess but it won’t be Schertz … I think it’ll likely be Casey Alexander …
Hodgson will have his pick of a handful of places … Syracuse makes a lot of sense if they can get everything in alignment for him …
The Randy Bennett rumors make no sense to me … Think he stays put …
Calhoun to Cincy makes too much sense …
If Braeuer is able to take a better job … Don’t rule out Tyler at SFA …
I really believe that, given how college athletics works now, coaching decisions come down to two main factors: where a coach wants to live and how strong the NIL support is. For example, would someone prefer to live in Lawrence or Ann Arbor? Lexington or Tuscaloosa?Kansas is a top 3 job in the sport …
In my opinion it’s really Kansas, Kentucky, and Duke in that upper tier …
I get what you are saying, in that I think more than ever there is a good argument for a coach to stay put at a good program rather than start over at a Blue Blood. However, allow me to go on a tangent that is not directed at you, lol.If i were an Arizona fan, i'd be livid if I lost Lloyd - for any job. I'd like to think Zona was a great enough program, even if it is Kanas, that that wouldn't be an issue. Also, Zona took a gamble on Lloyd. I know he was highly regarded, but he still went to a job like Arizona from an assistant role. Not that Lloyd should take a pay cut because of that, but id think if money was equal...
Dusty May leaving for Kansas would be a dream. All 11 Michigan basketball fans would be devastated

Didn’t they just announce a new chancellor? And the new AD is supposed to be announced next week?Syracuse leadership is such a mess right now. That program might turn into modern Georgetown if they're not careful.

I continue to be surprised at what a reputation Arizona enjoys nationally ... my theory is that they have mostly been on an island out there with UCLA over the last 25+ years, and the perception of their prestige has been inflated nationally. I'm not saying you are doing this at all (I would also VERY much agree that Arizona was a "great enough program," let's be clear!), but they often get talked about like they're a whiff away from a Blue Blood ... but just look at how they compare to us historically.
All-Time Winning Percentage: ARI .666, ILL .643
National Championships: ARI 1, ILL 0
Final Fours: ILL 5, ARI 4
Elite Eights: ARI 11, ILL 10
Sweet Sixteens: ARI 20, ILL 14
NCAAT Appearances: ILL 35, ARI 35
Weeks in AP Poll: ARI 634, ILL 536
AP Top 25 Finishes: ARI 32, ILL 30
Would I rank Arizona ahead of us as an all-time program? Yes. Would I say it's a better job? Very debatable, but I would be fine with "in the same ballpark." But they are much closer to our stratosphere than Kansas by a country mile, at least if you are going by all-time history. I mean hell, people give the Big Ten SO much crap for not winning a National Championship since 2000, but Arizona hasn't made a Final Four since 2001 and we hardly ever hear about that drought!
I'm of course being tongue in cheek here a little, as Arizona has been a much better program than a lot of schools on that list ... but if some people were as intent on hating on Arizona as much as they are on Illinois, they would say ridiculous things like "Arizona is at least behind every school on that list over this period."![]()

Schertz knows better. SLU now is in a better place than K State. I’m talking alumni, donor support, nice facilities, good AD. Not talking conferences.
is it looking like Josh Shertz will get all kinds of offers?

And that's why May would be nuts to leave Michigan. It's almost an ideal job. Massive resources, lots of brand equity, the legitimate ability to contend for a national championiship, and comparatively little pressure because everyone at Michigan cares about football first.Dusty May leaving for Kansas would be a dream.
