One draw for a coach will always be the chance to win a national title. It's pretty limited at Illinois, certainly for the next five years. I think the blue blood programs where a guy could go and perhaps accomplish that in 5 years are not going to be looking at BB. They'll want something shinier. The one caveat is that perhaps we'll see more situations like in Kentucky basketball where a blue blood just can't entice a top flight "shiny" coach. BB is next level down and maybe has a shot. I don't think that is likely.
The other factor of course is NIL money. He can obviously survive right now at our spot in the pecking order. But if we slip down the list and he can't be competitive for recruits, he'll obviously be open to moving to a school that has a better NIL funding program.
