Crazy stat, Indiana has the #1 scoring offense in the country and the # 2 scoring defense. If you had told me 2 years ago that in 2 years Penn State would be 3-5 after 8 games, on a 5-game losing streak, in the basement of the B10 standings, firing James Franklin, AND that Indiana would be 9-0, ranked #2 in the country, with legitimate national championship chances, I would've had you committed to a mental institution!
What a crazy time we're in right now...
How to rank the job openings?
Fla
PSU
LSU
Auburn?
UCLA?
Arky?
VT?
OkSt?
Stanford?
First 3 pretty easy after that I got nothin.
I don't think so... Places like LSU, Florida and Auburn have that 'We have to have a Star Power big name coach'... and while BLj has done a good job here in creating some exciting offenses - based largely on the fact that Illinois hasn't HAD an offense in decades - I don't think that resonates at these PERCEIVED big named schools... I could see him getting an interview at Arkansas, but I think he should be careful in that one. Arkansas is well known to favor its baseball, basketball and track teams over spending on football... I could see BLj moving on to a G5/6 (whatever) school if he just 'had to have some HC experience'. But since I am not privy to his underlying ambitions, I am obviously guessing... I like BLj, but am afraid of his 'Peter Principle' level... If we were still ranked, I think his star might be brighter, but not being ranked dims that greatly. IMHO...Lunney gonna have his choice of Penn State, LSU, Florida, or Auburn!! Wow!!

New offensive coordinator ifLunney is gone?
New offensive coordinator ifLunney is gone?
Which brings up the point we keep talk8ng about lunney leaving.how about cignetti losing both offensive and defensive coordinators?Crazy stat, Indiana has the #1 scoring offense in the country and the # 2 scoring defense.
What about Sean Lewis?yup
it’s why Wiscy won’t fire Fickell even if it’s deserved . who are they going to be able to attract if they did & paid that buyout?
Leipold ?
Arkansas State would be a good place for Lunney to start as a head coach, if it comes open.I don't think so... I'd prefer down south he seems capable would prefer not have to play his teams yearly or bi yearlyI'm hoping Coach Drink takes one of the many jobs down South. Or northeast, I guess if PSU calls
Every P4 conference comes through the STL area to recruit but I'd love to see how well Black Cat could do if we were the premier program of the two for a multiple year stretch.
I think North Texas as I believe Eric Morris will get picked up by one of the Power 4 schoolsArkansas State would be a good place for Lunney to start as a head coach, if it comes open.
Heck gt TE coach that JC Anderson liked even if you don't want JC right now.![]()

Good post. It was hard for me to separate the top 3 but you did a great job of it.I can try:
Top job LSU- top school in a state that produces lots of NFL talent with a monopoly in said state to boot.
Rest of Tier 1:
Florida- top state university in the big 2 recruiting states. Only if, fans hate the AD making the hire.
Penn State- Big program. Main recruiting area PA is drying up, but can easily poach NJ, OH, and have ties to the DMV. Fanbase is cultish though.
Tier 2- Crazy money but crazy boosters and crazy rivals- Arky and Auburn. Auburn has Yellawood money and Arkansas has money from Tyson, JB Hunt, Jerry Jones, and a bunch of Waltons. However they have insane rivals with Auburn dealing with Bama and Arky dealing with Texas and Mizzou. Also both schools have some wacky boosters.
Tier 3- VT and OkSt. OK St has had money issues since T Boone died. Va Tech is kinda in a Wisconsin situation, outsiders' views of them are really propped up by 2000s.
Tier 4- UCLA and Stanford. UCLA is broke and Stanford has academic restrictions.
Who do we want? Lol
That governor, though…I can try:

Comes with territory with LSUThat governor, though…![]()
I’ve waited to make this post … But I don’t want to hold off and you hear his name start popping up for these jobs …
I want to be clear … Bret is focused on this season and this team … He has not directly engaged with anyone or any program …
However - there are multiple programs that are interested … All down South … We all know who they are …
I don’t think Bret leaves … But I fully expect them to come knocking …
Too bad for them he already got that out of his system.I’ve waited to make this post … But I don’t want to hold off and you hear his name start popping up for these jobs …
