So I'm late to the game but just realized Penn St. is likely going to the 3-3-5 with the hire of Matt Campbell. Guess we are going to see a lot of this def. in the Big 10. Crazy

This could actually be the worst staff recruiting wise since Bret has been here. Bunch of old guys who got no energy to hit the trail or have landed big time players. If i am Art, i am walking into Bret's office asking for another raise.
The reason the Ignore button was invented.

I'm confused. When do the down 3 lineman come out on the field and rotate just before the offense snaps the ball?
Whenever Brett sends them. He has a lot on his plate, so sometimes they switch out late. 😁

Penn State is not running the 3-3-5 John Heacock retired. He didn’t want to follow Matt Campbell to Penn State . Penn State hired USC defensive coordinator D’Anton Lynn. Penn State will be running the same defense USC ran last season . An aggressive 4-2-5 scheme. Illinois beat up his defense last season

John Heacock Iowa State 3-3-5 philosophy is different from The Rocky Long 3–3-5 philosophy . Tony White and his Nebraska and Syracuse defensive coordinator days are a better example of Rocky Long, Bobby Hauck 3-3-5 defense. Tony White and Bobby Hauck studied under Rocky Long. Two coaches can run the same defensive scheme but have a different philosophy IMG_5264.jpegcan run the same

Nate promoted to OC with the Rams, but honestly I’m not sure how big of a deal this is since McVey still calls plays.

Hasn't hurt any of the other guys that got HC jobs with McVey still calling plays. List is quite long now Both LeFleurs, KO'C, and Coen

It's a big deal in the sense that he is the next McVay disciple in line to get a head coaching gig. Conceivably the next head coach of the Eagles? Buccaneers? Hopefully not the Jets...

Interesting listen and somewhat critical evaluation of Hauck, here at 29:40. The credentials of Kevin Van Valkenburg appear to be a former football player for, and graduate of Montana in the late 90's. Also, a former writer for ESPN.

Cignetti gets new contract at IU. 13 mil a year through 2033. He was making $677,000 his last year at JM. He hit the jackpot. Co-ordinators are making close to 3 million.
