It's a bit of a cop out to fire the OC. Their issues go far beyond this year. They lost that game yesterday due to penalties on both sides. That's a discipline issue and that starts and ends with the head coach. That was a $55M(or whatever the buyout is) decision, to appease the fans, by having someone's head roll.
Exactly.
You wonder now if anything gets him fired. Looking at the schedule you have to figure 1 and 2. If he goes 0 and 3, no way are the fans going to be appeased but from a dollars-and-cents standpoint that's a pretty big lift for anyone.
Will Nebraska go to a bowl game at 6-6 or will they do the IU basketball thing and turn down these lesser opportunities?
