Well in his defense, he did leave to follow Wooden at UCLA. That’s quite a gig. And he did move the Illini from 10th to 9th in conference. But most of all, his leaving cleared the way for Lou. But, yeah, considering how I feel about Self, I’m sure many people didn’t like Bartow after that.
And Bartow left UCLA afer just two years. Had a good record there, but, as John Wooden's successor, I think the expectations were just too high. Started the basketball program at Alabama-Birrmingham and remained as head coach for 18 years (also athletic director) and had a fair amount of success.

Oklahoma has two guys declaring for draft as well as at least a couple hitting the portal. Might have himself a rebuild.

This cannot be a surprise to NC. Guessing they have someone lined up already. They may have to act like they don't for appearances though.
Bruce Pearl has been really quiet lately, especially since they halted the distribution of his Nikes. He's probably in the discussion ( if you ask him)...

Hate to sound naive, and I think I know the answer, but I'll ask it anyway: Would another school want to hire a coach whose program is facing such serious charges?
Go as Rick Pitino. He’s always got a job.

Nothings going to happen to KU. Nothings going to happen to Self. Nothing has come of the fed investigation outside a couple assistant coaches getting convicted. And the money-maker schools just thumb their nose at the NCAA. What are they going to do to KU basketball? Idk- probably slap sanctions on some other less important school that didn’t do anything too bad to make a show of authority without punishing one of the big boys. KU handing Self a lifetime contract in the midst or possible sanctions and investigations tells you everything you need to know. 100% someone else would hire him and all are unconcerned about the NCAA or any other investigation.

I guess the DC area isn't as bad as stated....really looking forward to the next twerps-scUM game......
It's not DC so much as the Terps fan base. They can be brutal, insecure, and entitled. An unattractive mix. I like the guy and have enjoyed watching his teams here. Can't wait until the Illini visit again.

You could very well be correct. KU's program has been accused of committing FIVE Level 1 NCAA violations. The case will be taken up by the new Independent Accountability Resolution Process (IARP), supposedly by this summer. Its decision will be final. With such major violations for it to consider, maybe, just maybe Kansas and Mr. Self will finally pay some sort of price. Not going to hold my breath, but....

Fife screams coach in waiting. I bet Woodson's salary is lower than most of the B1G. Fife's will probably be tops for B1G assistants. Guess they're serious about this Indiana thing. Who knows if it will actually work though.
