Not close to coaching situation but seems to me that it is a management job at the P5 level not a technical job. Managing upward with the AD to get the facilities, managing the day to day by hiring the right assistants and giving them assignments that match their abilities, motivating and supporting staff and players to maximize the results. Hiring the guy who is a great x and o technician, or the great rah, rah, guy is not going to succeed in the long run.

I sat behind their bench a few times last year. Bad language, bad body language (waving off officials, eye rolling, whining, throwing his jacket, stomping..just general temper tantrum) but what really got me is the way he talked to and treated Cameron Krutwig. Right in his face and screaming at him while Krutwig had to just sit there with spit flying at him. It seemed pretty belittling. His best player too and I was floored to see how he was treating him.
Hoiberg again? He’d probably not mind getting away from Nebraska.

) Also have to think Whitman won't be outbid by K state and that he will restructure Brads current deal to increase the buyout even more and give him another raise.
The thought of Bruce Weber indirectly setting back Illinois basketball again by failing at Kansas State? Surely there's no way the basketball gods would do that to our fan base again.

1. He's built something here.
2. Easier to recruit to Illinois.
3. I assume we have better facilities.
4. JW will pony up if needed (for him and probably assistant salary pool as well).
5. Illinois is just plain a better program, higher ceiling, more established brand, higher on the pecking order of college programs
