I was surprised to see that Rashon Burno took that NIU job. I figured he would be a top contender for DePaul. I guess DePaul must have someone else in mind. I would think if they wanted Burno, someone would have let Burno know to wait. Unless Burno was never interested in DePaul.

Northwestern isn't going to find anyone better than Collins. Moser isn't leaving Loyola for NU. I've sat behind the Loyola bench before and seen Moser in action. Would not want him representing my school or coaching my son.
Really? Haven’t heard that before. Can you expound on that? Language?

I think Northwestern likes and keeps Collins.
The man truly is an animal.

They give Collins one more year. If he can't get it done with the roster next year that is basically identical to this year's team then he's never going to do it.

Regarding Penn State, I'm surprised nobody is giving Ferry a chance to get the full-time job? Seems like they really played hard for him.
Would love to see them hire Ferry. Lifetime 220-259 record at LIU, Duquesne, and peeSu. Flamed out at Duquesne after 5 non-winning seasons in the A-10. Put those knitting lions back on the bottom where they belong.

Reports out of Iowa late tonight indicate Steve Prohm's time at Iowa State may be coming to an end, barring a miracle.

Amazing how quickly things have fallen off for him in Ames. Made the Sweet Sixteen his first season and made two more tournament appearances after that.

Not close to coaching situation but seems to me that it is a management job at the P5 level not a technical job. Managing upward with the AD to get the facilities, managing the day to day by hiring the right assistants and giving them assignments that match their abilities, motivating and supporting staff and players to maximize the results. Hiring the guy who is a great x and o technician, or the great rah, rah, guy is not going to succeed in the long run.
Look at what BU has done with assistants, facilities, and PR.

Even more so in football.

I sat behind their bench a few times last year. Bad language, bad body language (waving off officials, eye rolling, whining, throwing his jacket, stomping..just general temper tantrum) but what really got me is the way he talked to and treated Cameron Krutwig. Right in his face and screaming at him while Krutwig had to just sit there with spit flying at him. It seemed pretty belittling. His best player too and I was floored to see how he was treating him.

Hoiberg again? He’d probably not mind getting away from Nebraska.

Hopefully the key word there being "think"
They would have to pony up some money. Maybe Brad really does want to go home but I doubt it. Don't think he wants to take on a rebuild at this point in his career when he has things rolling here and recruiting buzz is at an all time high(even if some of it isn't publicly known ;)) Also have to think Whitman won't be outbid by K state and that he will restructure Brads current deal to increase the buyout even more and give him another raise.

I'm sure they want him. I don't see it happening.
1. He's built something here.
2. Easier to recruit to Illinois.
3. I assume we have better facilities.
4. JW will pony up if needed (for him and probably assistant salary pool as well).
5. Illinois is just plain a better program, higher ceiling, more established brand, higher on the pecking order of college programs
