Definitely being mentioned. No one is mentioning Tim Anderson? Former DePaul AC? Name to watch.

Anderson can currently “recruit” these players with no NCAA restrictions. Be their buddy. Put himself in a great spot if they opt out of the draft. Once he signs as an assistant somewhere, he is bound by rules. Pays to wait.Interesting. Apparently, he left DePaul for "personal reasons" in April. The combine runs from the 21st to the 27th so we have a timeline. I'm somewhat dubious Ground Zero would keep him from being announced as he was working there while at DePaul, previously.
I'd also note, BalloonsTheElephant, that you "confirmed" it was an NBA AC on Sunday. Anderson definitely isn't an NBA AC. What changed?

This is one of the reasons NBA ratings are tanking the league is ran by the players this has Luka written all over it, it would a fresh breathe to come to college I would thinkIt all makes sense now! AC3 is Rick Carlisle now that he is done with the Mavs!

What I've been told is it's an NBA AC, but there's been rumblings of Anderson that are gaining steam. This is the absolute quietest recruit/hire I've ever witnessed. There was no name, just "NBA AC".Interesting. Apparently, he left DePaul for "personal reasons" in April. The combine runs from the 21st to the 27th so we have a timeline. I'm somewhat dubious Ground Zero would keep him from being announced as he was working there while at DePaul, previously.

Its pronounced gifThere are almost as many posts complaining about gifs as posts with gifs now. Balance in the universe.
Randle vs. Royal: I realize you're not an insider, but I think you've captured Brad's search for Coach #3 perfectly here.......Take my opinion with a grain of salt, but Randle doesn't make much sense to me, at least not from his perspective. He's in his first season as an assistant coach with a very good, young Phoenix Suns team after a two year stint in Minnesota as a video coordinator in 2018-2019 and player development in 2019-2020. Why leap to your 4th different role in 4 years with your 3rd different team (Not to mention a change from NBA to college)? If his goal was to be a college coach, why not start there after retiring from playing in Europe? That being said, I think he'd be a solid addition.
Royal Ivey (Brooklyn Nets assistant coach) has made more sense to me since his name was brought up. It seems that he wants to coach college ball as Durant has petitioned Texas to hire him as their next head coach as recently as March (and was interviewed for the position prior to Chris Beard being hired). If Ivey is wanting a stepping stone college gig, I think Illinois would be a great spot for him to build his resume to eventually become a head coach. I know people don't like the idea of being a stepping stone, but as long as he sticks for 2+ years, I think Ivey would be a good get. Think of the recruiting pitch Ivey has, he's a good friend of Durant (played with and coached him), and I think a lot of the top 25 guys in the country model their game after Durant and look a lot like him when he was in high school/college. Durant was listed at 6'-9" and 190 lbs and could score at all 3 levels coming out of high school compare that to guys we've offered in the top 25 like JJ Taylor (6'-8", 185lbs, 2023), Kwame Evans (6'-8" 190lbs, 2023). I think having someone who's friends with Durant and has coached top guys at an NBA level (Harden, Irving, Durant, etc) would be a solid recruiting pitch.
That being said, it could be one of these two, either of which I think would be solid hires, or someone else completely. I just think Ivey makes more sense when viewing it from their perspectives and possible coaching aspirations based on what's been reported.
Seems like a soap opera with twists and turns at every harrowing eventIt's been a fascinating, if frustratingly long, process. Appreciate the info, BalloonsTheElephant.
With the Bucks one win away from taking out the Nets and the combine happening next week, hopefully we get some answers soon.
Not an “it will blow your mind” hire.No one is mentioning Tim Anderson? Former DePaul AC? Name to watch.
Pruman, not too far off, but if this were a soap opera, we'd have all sorts of drama, deception, and goofiness coming from the main actors (JW, BU, etc.). In our case, that's not true. It's just coming from the audience! Yep, that's some of the folks in here!Seems like a soap opera with twists and turns at every harrowing event
Now we just need someone to die and return from the grave to cap it off. Any volunteers?Pruman, not too far off, but if this were a soap opera, we'd have all sorts of drama, deception, and goofiness coming from the main actors (JW, BU, etc.). In our case, that's not true. I don't disagree, but he's a solid recruiter and developer. Not an “it will blow your mind” hire.
Underwood's definition of an assistant that would blow people's minds and yours is vastly different. In the coaching world, Tim Anderson has a very good reputation. It would be hard for me to believe it would take this long to secure a former DePaul AC. Seems he would have been waaaaay down the list of "mind-blowing" options.

Hope that's true, sounds like a great reason to delay an AC signingAnderson can currently “recruit” these players with no NCAA restrictions. Be their buddy. Put himself in a great spot if they opt out of the draft. Once he signs as an assistant somewhere, he is bound by rules. Pays to wait.
Unfortunately, Rosie O’Donnel would win that battle royale in a walk. She’s got 100 pounds on everyone except Pritzger, and she’d make him cry in 30 seconds.I think at this point we should have a BATTLE ROYAL! My Pillow Guy/Iron Sheik/Bernie Sanders/Jeff Sessions/Gov. Pritzer/Lorie Lightfoot/former Gov. Bagorivitch/Rosie O'Donnial/Whoppie Goldberg/Megan McCann and Mr. Bean! Winner gets the job!
So it's an NBA guy, or someone else? What I've been told is it's an NBA AC, but there's been rumblings of Anderson that are gaining steam. This is the absolute quietest recruit/hire I've ever witnessed. There was no name, just "NBA AC".
At this point I'd put it at a toss up. My guy has never been wrong, including the Kansas City Shuffle that was Bryce Hopkins among others. I think only Josh, Brad, AC3, and their lawyers know this one.
If I am wrong, you can martyr me with the rest of those who led astray the Loyal sheep with false promises of "sauces" and insider news.
The revisionist history is impressive. Who said the next assistant coach is going to be mind blowing?
