House was just a DC at LSU….im not sure he’d come here as a position coach.
Currently yes. But if Leonhard was interested in the position, I would hope we would try to entertain all possibilities to make that happen even if it meant losing/reassigning a first-year DC whose performance was less than impressive
Not sure he’ll be in real high demand after their defense last year either… more wishful thinking. Will Henry go back to corners?

Don't know what financial/family considerations were in play, but surely we're not suggesting a choice of Henry over Leonhard if all else is constant. Assuming Leonhard wants to get back into full-time coaching, and he would be interested in UI, I would hope the fact that Henry is currently in the role wouldn't prohibit Leonhard from happening

As someone whose views are quite limited on CFB (besides Illini/B10) and the NFL (I watch NFL.com highlights and Rich Eisen clips occasionally on YT, and not much else), if the headlines ended up reading “Bama Hires Miami’s McDaniel” I’d probably think “that seems like a good hire.”

I'm not sure why any successful NFL coach would want to go to college? Why deal with recruiting and boosters, and move to Tuscaloosa, AL on top of it?
If I had to guess which NFL head coaches would be interested, my first guess would be Brian Daboll, then DeMeco Ryans. Those are really the only 2 head coaches that anyone might want that I could see having interest. I think there's no way McDaniel leaves all of those offensive weapons in Miami.
I don't have the energy to look at all the NFL DCs and OCs.
