He said he hadn't heard any rumors anywhere but here, and that's clearly not the case. Who said anything about whether the rumors are true or not? And I'll trust our insiders, who have said things have been happening.

Feel free to ignore. I do not care.
I have given numerous insights to things that have happened in the past two off-seasons as well. I don’t need to have the forum-given “insider” tag to share with everyone my info, I am just a lil messenger haha

With that being said - Twitter is Twitter. That is not where I get my shareable information from.

It isn't. Penn State's a terrible job because the fanbase doesn't care about basketball to an unusually significant degree, but Notre Dame isn't far off on that score and is also in a tough conference and recruiting territory.

Nonetheless, for an Indiana guy whose stock is high and who would be stuck replacing his whole team next year and rebuilding from scratch at PSU, it's a pretty understandable move.

Honestly Mike Brey would not be a crazy PSU candidate at all, that would actually be kinda smart.
This is such a silly thought.

IN is a fertile recruiting st and it's closer to Chicago than C-U.

They've had 2 top 10 teams and back to back sweet 16s within the last 7 yrs. It's both historically and currently a much better basketball school than PSU.

Unless Texas makes the Final 4, and then it drags on....
If Texas makes a FF UT will face intense pressure to hire Terry full time, also keeping in mind the negative optics of not hiring him should they come that close to cutting down the nets. Terry isn’t some random assistant, he’s well know in the game and has been around a long time. This takes a huge piece to the puzzle off the board.

You can’t make stuff like this up folks. If somehow JW gets his choice of Miller out of all this mess I can only imagine the type of fallout we would have on our hands….

Even with the disappointing end of the season, I will give BU credit for handling the Skyy situation professionally so maybe our situation will never get this messy
why would we have fallout?

And now that the season is officially over. Can we get some more deets about the skyy fallout?@illini0440

Anybody wanna volunteer to do a regular day or two-day summary of the rumors, at least what seems somewhat plausible/could happen/probably not but you just never know? I can't keep up anymore.
If the insiders aren’t sharing spicy scoops at this hour we only speak about hypotheticals and our wildest Illini fantasies. Welcome to LAD, Frank

So this is interesting, it looks like the NCAA is going to be pretty strict on two-time transfer requests like Dain would be. It looks like even if there is a coaching change or if the current AD signs a letter for them, a waiver to avoid sitting out the year would not be approved.

It will be interesting to see how lenient the NCAA will be on players wanting to use the "mental well being" reason for transferring. Otherwise it looks like Dain will be sitting out another year if he wants to leave the orange and blue.

I appreciate the attempt to cut down on the possibility of players jumping from school to school every year, but I think coaching change should always be a reason to grant a waiver, even if a player has transferred once before.

We'll see. "[F]or reasons related to the student-athlete's physical or mental health or well-being" sounds like a huge loophole.

I agree that it's brutal they're specifically saying that trying to transfer with waiver a second time due to a coaching change will be denied. You've got players in situations like St. John's where Pitino rolls in and just publicly says most of these guys have to go... I've been wondering what Curbelo is going to do. I think he would drive Pitino crazy.

I would not want to be the coach to walk into that hypothetical situation. The optics, nevermind the idiocy of doing it in the first place. Yikes. No, I think there's no way Texas or its boosters could be that dumb after this year.
