Odd that no articles have shown up yet. You’d think there would be an article waiting to be released by someone.
There aren't any articles because it hasn't happened yet. Another instance of a social media account jumping the gun on something that's expected to happen, in the name of garnering clout.

Grand Canyon heading to the Mountain West immediately rather than waiting until July 1, 2026 to make the move.

Reportedly San Diego State and the other 4 schools that are scheduled to leave early for the Pac-12 were opposed to GCU entering the conference early but Mountain West Conference bylaws allowed for their removal from the board and all voting rights for the ensuing year.

I don’t have any idea what the right solution is

do you ?

I do know unlimited transferring is not sustainable . it doesn’t exist in any pro sport anywhere
You know what also doesn’t exist in pro sports anywhere? Players not being paid employees.

Any new law that limits a player’s earning potential would be immediately challenged in court and could perhaps go all the way to the Supreme Court where it’s constitutionally would be decided upon.

The right solution is make the players paid employees and have them form a collective bargaining unit. That would end the Wild West nonsense we currently have. But schools continue to resist because they would rather someone else pay the players instead of adding payroll to their expenses.

The constitution doesn't cover anti-trust, that's its own set of laws.
"The bill includes the three elements the NCAA has lobbied for: antitrust protections, pre-emption of state laws that regulate name, image, likeness payments, and a section that prevents athletes from becoming employees of their schools."

I expect it would be a mess since there would be conflicts among potentially applicable laws, but it would give the NCAA a lot of cover from which to keep players off payrolls. I expect this to drag on for years if not decades.

at which point there will only new about 20-30 schools/teams still playing big time football

its simply not sustainable as is. and not for long .

I like(d) college sports for various reasons - one being an escape from pro sports. sadly, there is hardly a difference anymore
