Offseason injuries to rotation players…

Since we don't have any additional information here, I asked ChatGPT what the best-case scenario is:

"The best realistic scenario is an isolated fracture-possibly something like a fifth-metatarsal/Jones fracture-that was repaired immediately with a screw, with no ligament, cartilage, or tendon damage.

For high-level athletes, surgery on that type of fracture is often chosen to make healing faster and more predictable, not because the injury is career-threatening. Research on surgically treated fifth-metatarsal fractures in athletes shows an average return to play of roughly 9½–11 weeks, with very high healing rates."

Considering he was sitting on a soil compactor tractor a few days ago on Z's Instagram story, I would assume this was something that wasn't that bad on Friday, was nagging through the weekend, so they had it x-rayed, and considering the timing, made the most sense to get surgery to heal before the season begins. This is me hoping.
