Tiniest bit of positivity here but if hes going to be able to come back this year its better he got hurt now at the beginning of fall practice when there is time to adjust rather than right before the season.

I heard 3 months and back during conference play...but who knows at this point. Gotta love our preseason luck...

And that is just to play again...God knows he won't be up to speed when he starts playing again....Just look at Tomi and Boswell when they came back from injuries...This is just awful..

Just awful. If it’s conference play, gotta assume there’s a chance he doesn’t come back and just begins preparing for the draft at that point.
Just no reason at all to be thinking this.

If he doesn't play a single minute of basketball this year, how is that helping his cause to becoming a 1st round pick?

Okay, I know emotions are swirling, and maybe I’m a bit of optimistic here, or misinterpreting some of the intel, but insiders and pundits are speculating anywhere from 6-10(?) weeks (~2-3 months) until he’s back? Fully back? That feels quite… good I’d say right? Obviously, no injury is better, but a few weeks after a surgery seems like best case scenario!

Again, unless I’m missing something, Mirk, the guy who hates sitting on the sidelines, will be back and might not even miss a game. Will still be back to ramp up in the early easy non-conference. Put in time against the bigger games, being fully ramped up by the time conference is underway. He made it through all of conditioning and summer training. Packed on muscle, got more nimble, and the staff are very high on him being a POY candidate. Player bonding is high, QC just said he and Mirk grew close. I’m sure Mirk will be heavily involved in the team these coming weeks so he won’t miss a beat.

Idk, just seems like until we hear more from Brad & Co. I’ll relax and consider signs pointing to season expectations still on track. Plus as others have said, this means the depth pieces get more responsibility and reps to shine bright, prove themselves, and become even better.

a significant piece of this is Fletch. he's always gotten guys ready to go, coming off injuries.
Tomi and Andrej both missed time early on last season. Also, Tomi had Mono his first season and came back far sooner than usual. I am going to trust our staff here. I think Mirk will still ball out this year.

Our schedule is:

cupcake game
cupcake game
Texas Tech

So, the hope should be to get him back by at least the SECOND cupcake game. Just to get his feet wet before TTU.

.....

Its a lot like Andrej last year. Our slate was:

Jackson State
FGCU
Texas Tech

He came back against FGCU and did not have a great game. But, against Texas Tech, he was incredible and led us to victory.

Brad is the head coach of a professional basketball team. Does he know that? Would an NBA owner tolerate the number of injuries we have seen just in practices?

His favorite movie is Air Bud and that's exactly the movie that'll be shown this Saturday at Memorial Stadium. Hopefully, he's wheeled out on a wheeled recliner because I don't want him going anywhere NEAR those Memorial Stadium steps...
