EA College Football Game

SUPER EXCITED about this! I have all of the games from 08 - 14 (still play 14 on my 360), however would love to see the new Illinois uniforms in game play and lead Illinois to the CFB Playoffs!

2021 has been off to a GREAT start. Let's keep it rolling

Just fired up my 360 over the holidays and I'm in year 2 with Wyoming. Still really fun to play. My kids did not like the graphics compared to PS4. :rolleyes:šŸ˜‚

I hope they expand upon the coaching tree mode where you can earn ā€œXPā€ and apply it to different coaching attributes.

I also loved the hiring mechanic, though I hope they revamp it a bit. I was getting P5 job offers to be a HC after my first season as the OC of UTSA. šŸ¤Ø

Saw a spokesperson quoted saying its 2-3 years down the line and they mention players being compensated... So we'll see how far this gets. I still dont understand why they can make a game, get licensing from teams, and generate "random" players. Heck, even making ratings random too. Give each school a tier to fall into when generating a roster, (i.e. OSU, Bama, Clemson all would regularly get 95+ ratings, while we might be in the 70s or something), but have the players random. I get it takes away from using real life guys attributes and thats part of the game, but allow custom rosters and you're golden.

The prestige mechanism is already in the game... Revamp and improve it and you've set.

Having randomly generated playerā€™s not a big deal. Thereā€™s still a community thatā€™s been updating the rosters every yr for download since the 14 game

Yup. Wouldnā€™t even need to do the ā€œtierā€ approach Austin was talking about.

Just get the rights for the stadiums, logos, and names of the teams and literally randomize EVERY aspect about the players.

The online roster creators that I also used for years will take care of the rest. They do it for free.

Guess I'll have to buy the new Xbox, a 4k TV, etc. next year.

I loved playing NCAA 08 or 09 - 14. I loved having Juice throw at least 4 TDs a game, mostly to Been and Fayson, in 10 and Sheelehouse doing it all.

Liked slightly exploiting the 'Play a Game in Recruit's Home State' promise for players from Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan and the have out of conference games in Texas, Florida, Georgia, and California every few years.

Hope they allow extremely customizable conferences (remove conferences, have 16 plus teams, use pods for bigger conf. to spread around games, etc.), ability to upgrade facilities/school by completing tasks/achievements, use 2014's point based recruiting system, improve the scouting process (able to 'hold camps' to scout), etc.

I'm excited.

My only hope is that EA Sports does not turn the College Football game into another Madden like game. I heavily dislike all of the Madden games after 17 with poor gameplay and not many updates and restricted Franchise mode.

Hell yeah! In the most recent version I had, they totally botched the Memorial Stadium renovation (understandable, we aren't exactly Texas and they were probably feeling strapped by that point, lol), and I feel like they will give this "return version" all they've got. I'll be buying immediately!

If they want to make this truly authentic, they need to add bag men to career mode. You can have donors give jobs to recruits parents and bags of cash and vehicles left for the recruits

It'll be exactly like that unfortunately. They probably make more on MUT nonsense then they do on game sales.

As someone who tries to play the game as close as possible to real life it's depressing.

Agreed! I download the custom rosters and draft classes and that is probably the only fun part in Madden.

In my opinion, EA should just take the template for NCAA 14 and just upgrade the graphics and add additional feature to coaching trees and more hands on approach to hiring coaching staffs and more realistic scenarios of being fired/hired as a coach.

This game can sell more than Madden probably will IF they do not copy Madden.

Iā€™ve often thought about this. Is there a way to add more of the shady realism to recruiting/coaching?

The only dynamic they ever had that could be considered ā€œnegativeā€ when it came to a coachā€™s recruiting was that ā€œpromiseā€ one. If you promise a kid theyā€™d start in order to secure their commitment, and they didnā€™t start, you broke the promise.

But I donā€™t remember it ever truly having a negative effect.

Iā€™m sure when the NCAA was affiliated with the game, adding the ā€œgive the kid a new carā€ dynamic was a no-no.

But If EA has cut free, Iā€™d say all bets are off. Add in whatever you want. (Iā€™m sure they wonā€™t...in the name of sportsmanship/not teaching kids to cheat/playing within the rules...etc)

Can you imagine having ā€œhire the HS football coachā€ or ā€œhave booster negotiate loan based on future earningsā€ or ā€œbuy parents a new houseā€ as options? HA! The possibilities would be endless.

And then try to make the risks/punishment severe enough, you could lose coach reputation (and have recruits and coaches who value that never want to play for you or work with you) or be be banned from post season play or get the death penalty...maybe even be banned from coaching?? (Like a true GAME OVER scenario)

For those who haven't heard there's a new mod for NCAA 14 that will eventually have all the new uniforms/stadiums/branding in the game. It's for free but a very tedious process. It's called "CFB Revamped" and they just released the pack with the Illini in it. Unfortunately, the modders didn't have enough room to put in the grey ghost helmets but the rest of the jerseys are there.

Would have to clean out my hard drive to make room for all of Oregonā€™s combos
