English Premier League 2025/26

Aston Villa one of the hottest teams in the league right now. They've won a club record tying 11 straight matches in all competitions (8 of them in the Premier League) after today's win at Chelsea. They have a chance to break the club record Tuesday at Arsenal.

hoping to be that combo breaker on tuesday. the last 9 of those 11 wins have been by a single goal. barely scraping by but still getting the three points.

no points for Villa today. Watkins happy to score on his 30th birthday though, denying Raya another clean sheet.

Chelsea have parted ways with Enzo Maresca. He was in charge for 18 months at Stamford Bridge. The club has won once in their last 7 Premier League matches though reportedly the reason he is leaving is due to a breakdown in his relationship with the club's hierarchy. In recent weeks, he had been publicly critical of the club's ownership.

Assistant manager Willy Caballero is expected to be the interim manager for Sunday's match against Manchester City. Liam Rosenior, who manages RC Strasbourg (which is also owned by same ownership group as Chelsea), is expected to be a contender as Maresca's permanent replacement.

After Spurs latest loss (today at Bournmouth), rumors are that Thomas Frank could be sacked as soon as tomorrow.

HUGE upset in the FA Cup this morning. Crystal Palace lose at Macclesfield 2:1. Macclesfield play in the 6th division of English football.

Palace are first defending champions to lose in FA Cup to a non-league club in 117 years.

Frank still around, even after drinking from an Arsenal cup
His days are numbered. He's been getting booed by the home fans for more than a month now. The decision makers can't allow that to continue indefinitely.

I was willing to give him a chance, but I'm solidly Frank out at this point. Under Ange, they at least played attacking football. Frank's tactics are like watching paint dry. Spurs fans have already expressed that they won't put up with that.

If it were up to me, I would bring back Pochettino. But I don't see that happening in a Word Cup year. Xabi would be better than Frank by a mile.

I said the other day that it would be ideal to appoint Harry Redknapp as caretaker manager through the end of the season and then get Pochettino back after the World Cup. Fingers crossed...
