Needless to say, huge loss for Arsenal. Ugh. Will be interesting to see if Everton reverts to form or if they can play up to their talent level (which isn't top of table by any stretch, but they can and should be dangerous).

Between yesterday's loss and the UCL draw, no bueno.

That's the Everton squad we all thought we had this year. What a game. I haven't been that intense into a game for a long time. Hopefully they turn a corner.

Great UCL draw (again) for the Gunners!

if there was ever a year to draw bayern, this is it. they're definitely not as formidable as they have been in the past.

the only thing that concerns me is that bayern wil get a nice winter break while arsenal slugs through league and FA cup matches in january.

No doubt. But still...

Google Trends has created its Year in Search for 2016.

According to this list (scroll down 3/4 of the way), the following were the most searched for soccer teams in the US this year:

this makes no sense. from the main page, i clicked on tottenham and added "Arsenal F.C." as a comparison. both "Search Term" and "Football Club" had arsenal higher. am i reading this wrong?

That's the thing that confuses me about this Everton squad though. They can lose to Watford and get their doors blown off by Chelsea but then somehow beat Arsenal and Manchester City. Can't quite figure them out.

First Merseyside derby of the year is Monday at Goodison Park.

Because it is Google Trends, maybe it takes into account a change from 2015 to 2016. Seeing as Leicester is in there, that would definitely make sense.

Chelsea is the 5th Premier league team to reach 40+ points through 16 games. The 4 other teams went on to win the league.

Man City 2011-12
Man United 2006-07
Chelsea 2005-06
Man United 1993-94

Will history repeat itself?

Lucky win by the Gunners. I'll take it though.

Bob Bradley out (after 11 games). Probably better off.

sounds like a rotten deal for bradley. i don't think i'd want to manage there after that. he didn't even get a chance to bring in new players.

sounds like giggs is the most likely to take over. or pardew...going for a record number of premier league clubs managed in so many years.

How much does his sacking hurt an American's chances of coaching again in the Premier League?

Don't think it matters much at all. There aren't any other US coaches close, plus the taint from Bradley bombing is more than outweighed by the virtually impossible situation that is Swansea.

Everton leave Hull today with a point after a 2:2 draw.

Toffees still a side that can be a bit frustrating to watch at times. Actually it's more amazing to me that they're 7th in the table, at what is now essentially the midpoint of the season, with how they've performed thus far.

They host Koeman's former club Southampton at Goodison Park on Monday. The Saints won 1:0 on their home turf back in late November.
