Beckman the best game was “WTF Did He Just Say?”.

Like most here, I like a lot of the bb games. The Kansas game in ‘24 was probably the one that convinced me this isn’t the same ‘ol illini

It’s fantastic that we have so many memorable games to choose from that we’re having a legitimate debate about the top five. I doubt I’d even be able to come up with five games I’d want to remember from the Lovie/Cubit/Beckman era.
The OSU game when they were #1 and Illinois beat them was outstanding. The bad part is that game was always shown on the BIG Network on Illinois day, they didn’t have any other choices. Now, they have several different games to choose from.

Great thread idea.(y)

The Pat Bryant walk-off is by far my favorite because I was there, it was an absolute miracle, and I'll never witness anything like it the remainder of my life.

Having noted that, it was an ugly game for us throughout. We had a lot of penalties and they dominated time of possession. We couldn't stop their running game (Monangai @ RB had well over 100 and Kaliakmanis at QB had 75 on the ground alone.) Only the inexplicable Schiano TO with around 10 seconds remaining as Olano lined up to kick a 50+ yarder into a gusty wind (that didn't even reach the goal line after he kicked it) set up that fourth-down Hail Mary crossing route. The gusting, swirling cold wind was absolutely fiendish that afternoon. Just brutal.

All's well that ends well, however. BB is at the helm and life is pretty good these days.

That was the Zook era. I can probably name five memorable games from his tenure.
