First of all, 2 questions does not give anything close to an accurate baseline on a polygraph
It does not say he was asked only two questions, it says only two questions and answers are "relevant."

He passed those two. How many other questions did he fail? And how many people even believe in polygraphs.

Jokes (even poor ones, like mine) do not require a response. They are presented only for entertainment purposes and to lighten things up, brighten your day, etc.

:D I got it.

A polygraph may be valuable, but a polygraph administered by someone hired by the polygraphee, I have serious doubts about, even if he was previously an FBI polygrapher. All that would have to happen is that Pitino know the questions in advance and he could easily beat it.

Now, if he wants to impress people, he should submit to an real FBI polygraph examination.

Notable that only one B1G school said yes - Wisconsin. And, I'd put the odds at about .01% that Wisconsin has been cheating in basketball recruiting.

On a related note: Kansas’ Self: Adidas case a “dark cloud on our profession’

the Jayhawks’ coach admitted being “very disappointed and disheartened” and likened it to a “dark cloud for our profession.”

Kansas recently reached a 12-year contract extension with Adidas that will ultimately provide the school with $191 million in sponsorship money and apparel. Self suggested the affiliation is being used by rivals on the recruiting trail.

Separate from this investigation, Loren Tate has claimed several times (on the radio) that Kansas has a high powered group of boosters that take care of the recruiting.

I once saw a documentary on Kansas basketball, and their facilities were about as crazy as you could imagine. I seem to recall they had their own jet, with a very spacious layout for tall people to get comfortable. I suppose it shouldn't have surprised me given how much money their is in college sports, but this was all supposedly booster money at work. No small change, by any measure. If that's an indication of their booster money, it's no wonder they land so many 5 stars.

Yeah, they also have luxury dorms for the players - same or better than what Kentucky has.

From the "you'd be smart to just let this go...but that's not what you're going to do" department, WSJ reporting that Pitino is suing Adidas. Can't say I'm surprised.

"Mr. Pitino’s reputation “hinged on him running a clean, proper, and strictly compliant men’s basketball program,” particularly in the wake of NCAA sanctions stemming from an assistant coach’s provision of escorts to players and recruits, the lawsuit says. Adidas knew, or recklessly avoided knowing, that his standing would be “severely damaged by a new scandal,” Mr. Pitino’s lawyers allege."

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Izzo got pinned by all of this stuff when he only (it seems anyway) got into the shady recruitment a couple years ago.

I'm basing that on his own comments about hating Chicago recruiting or something like that like 3 years ago then he went out and started landing lots of high profile recruits the next year.

Certainly not supporting Pitino, but if he knows he’s clean or at least has covered his tracks well enough, this move makes a ton of sense. Obviously he and his attorneys must think it will be difficult to prove he was aware of Adidas’ involvement.

How does Adidas prove Pitino knew without proving that Adidas also knew? The FBI has gotta be looking forward to that answer!

I don't think Adidas is asserting Pitino knew...the FBI is. Hence why the lawsuit's gonna be a stretch. You're gonna have to 1) prove Adidas knew and then 2) prove that Pitino didn't, when the FBI has recorded conversations directly implicating both Adidas and Pitino (although one could argue that the Pitino part is heresay).

Had a similar conversation with some buddies. This case has settlement written all over it, IMHO. No way Adidas wants this going to court, so they settle, have Pitino sign a non-disclosure agreement, and move on.

Question, is a non-disclosure or confidentiality agreement off limits to the FBI? I would assume yes, but being a criminal investigation has me wondering.
