But how would he do if he and Chris Collins traded jobs?
Collins is a way better coach. All Scheyer has shown is that he can continue the incredible talent acquisition that K enjoyed.
That's a little tough on Scheyer. You can be a great recruiter, you can't just sleepwalk your way into a Final Four.
C'mon. Collins is 50 years old and been a head coach for 12 seasons. Scheyer is 37 and has been an HC for three. Collins is excellent, and I have no doubt he'd do very well as Duke's HC. As i have no doubt that Scheyer would kill it (talent-adjusted) at NW with comparable experience.

Let's chat about this when Scheyer has another decade on the sidelines under his belt.

Scheyer is a good coach but he learned a tough lesson in his last game. Unprepared for the harassing press at the end. He and his team panicked.

Any HS coach can draw up a double pick in bounds play. College coaches get lazy and assume the opponent won't truly contest the in bounds. Same reason players miss layup because they don't use backboard. 95% time their athleticism lets them drop it directly in. Its that 5% of time that they miss that kills me.

Courtney Green from the B1G is determined to be one of the best refs in the country so he gets the Final Four games???
I watched a lot of SEC games with green jeans reffing and he was worse this year there than any time in the B$G.....believe that or not as he was horrendous when we had him..........he is certainly one of the worst refs today in all of MBB.............He really really is....

I'm rooting for Houston because I picked them to win.
Just a bragging rights thing, or is there $ involved?
I have FL in one pool but am so far out that win/lose means nothing.... But if I did in fact have Houston, but nothing was at stake really, I'm rooting against them.

And this is why I'll never pick a Pearl-coached or Sampson-coached team to win the NCAA tournament. Just can't give myself any possible motivation to support either of them.
This was definitely a Final Four where Illinois fans must choose to root against the lesser of four evils. My preference was, from worst to least worst:

Auburn
Florida
Houston
Duke

Pretty telling when Duke is the lesser of four evils. At least they don’t seem to have a scumbag for a coach.

Flip Houston and Florida and I'm right there with ya

I think I have much less animosity toward Sampson than I do toward Pearl, for a variety of reasons: 1) Sampson got caught and was put into basketball purgatory (albeit briefly). 2) We suffered greatly because of Pearl’s actions, and while he was punished for his actions while at Tennessee, he never paid in any physical or karmic ways for what he did to Deon, Jimmy and Lou. 3) I’m getting too old to harbor hate for anyone who’s ever wronged me — Pearl being the lone exception.

On the other hand, I was not disappointed when my pick lost.

The start of this game reminds me of our game against UK.

Florida shooting themselves in the foot with numerous TOs, then UK goes on runs.

Houston might have the best defense I've seen in college and they don't play anyone over 6'8".

Every day we should be grateful that the nonsense took Sampson down at Indiana or they would have been just murdering it for almost two decades now.

Their bigs are not tall but wide bodies with quickness and great vertical lift. This is why we need someone other than Tomi and Z next year with similar attributes. This lineup would kill us in the paint... too quick and great rebounding/jumping ability.
