Football Reseating

I'm presuming some tickets must be being held out for single games. The season ticket sales are now "sold out for the horseshoe, there is one (1) seat available in all of West Main, and there's just a handful of seats available in both far left and far right sections of West Balcony. East Main and East Balcony have a scattering of tickets available. I can't believe the season tickets through the university are sold out completely in the Horseshoe.

All that said, this team had better rock the world because fan support is over the top.
I selected my Horseshoe seats toward the end of the reseating process. There were rows and rows of unclaimed seats toward the top of the Horseshoe when I picked. So "sold out" in this case likely means that they holding those back for mini-plans or single game tickets.

According to the website over 32,000 season tickets have been sold.

Thank you for the answers to my question.

It’s too bad there is no way to travel East/West along the North end of the stadium without exiting!

Why hold them back if you can sell those seats for the entire season? Higher total season revenue that way? OK, but then why sell any season tickets at a lower cost per game? Maybe it’s like managing airline or cruise bookings. Customers pay more for the flexibility of waiting to buy later and a limited number get a discount for earlier commitments.

I like to stand in the last row of the horseshoe. In the top rows of the horseshoe are a bunch of different football teams from the suburbs.

i am confused. Were they unclaimed, which means available, or unavailable.

Well...sort of all three.

They were not claimed as part of the reseat process. To me, that means they are not yet sold. However, for new season ticket sales, which are on sale right now, there are no Horseshoe seats showing as available. I believe they are being held back and will be made available for sale when multi-game mini-packs and single game tickets go on sale in the summer.

Jason Heggemeyer (UI Associate Director of Athletics, Ticketing) was on the Saturday SportsTalk radio show this morning. He shared the following details about football season tickets:

- There are less than 150 season tickets left (in only the East Sideline and Colonnades Club)
- Close to 34k season tickets have been sold to the general public (non-student)
- With student season ticket sales, they are expecting to have close to 43k season tickets sold altogether by the start of the season

There was some discussion in the interview about why they would cut off season ticket sales for the Horseshoe and East Balcony. Jason noted that they are very intentional to provide multiple opportunities for people to come to events. Since we are still trying to grow a fanbase, we can't have buying a season ticket be the only/primary way to get to go to a game.

This makes a lot of sense. Mini packs and single tickets should get all games, maybe outside of WIU, well north of 50k. Over/under 3 games being sold out this year?

You know you're supposed to pick by .5's right??? So assuming you are saying the line is 2.5, I'd say that if we start out 4-0 I'd take the over..... USC and OSU would be certain sell outs.... Then we'd have to be in contention in later games for the CFP to get the 3rd. If we'd somehow be in contention for another 10 win season, I'd go 4 sellouts.

Ugh you’re right! That’s what I get for a late night post. Yes 2.5. I think USC and OSU are locks for a sellout.

I think four sellouts is a good conservative guess. We haven’t come all that close to selling out our early season buy games in the in recent years - they’ve generally been around or just above 50k. Not sure a Friday night game will turn the tide on that.

On the other end of the schedule, three November home games against non-marquee opponents is tough on the sellout front. If Illinois is playing up to expectations and is ranked solidly in the top 20 with fringe playoff chances, then I could see those selling out for sure.

Keep in mind, in 2022 there were only approximately 23k season ticket holders. If we end up with a season ticket base of 43k as Heggemeyer projected, the attendance floor is raised tremendously and a sellout for almost every game becomes within reach.

Has anyone received any info on when parking/tailgate lots will be sold? It was communicated that it would be in May, but I have not seen anything yet. Curious if some of the bigger donor levels have begun to select parking passes yet.
I still don’t have parking selection yet. Was surprised to get my basketball season tickets selection time before parking selection. Anybody else have the same experience?

I got my parking selection a couple months ago but haven't gotten the results yet.

I haven't received anything about parking selection yet.
According to the ERA website, the parking selection surveys are to be distributed in May and parking selection determined in June. That being said, I haven't heard anything about parking either.

I looked back and apparently I didn't. Probably confusing it with past times. I have a newborn so time and memory and thoughts sometimes seem like abstract concepts 🤣
Totally understandable. It's a sleepwalk those first few months.

We JUST got our email “survey” for parking lot choices at 10:05 today.
