If he showed another year of progress in shooting and scoring that he showed in each of the last two offseasons, he be getting something like 15ppg on 56% eFG%, which along with his 7rb and 4ast, KS would be very happy with. Maybe not $2M happy, but still.
Funny how much 3ppg would change the perception.
Coleman Hawkins has always been overrated and has never been a number 1 or 2 option on the Illini. He had every opportunity to be in those roles especially his last two years with the Illini. Coleman benefitted by playing with 3 of the best Illini players to ever wear the jersey. Ayo, Kofi and TJ. He was never worth $750, 000, let alone 2 million. Kansas St could have gotten 2-3 really good players with that kind of money.

I think overrated is a bit much. He impacted the game in numerous ways without being the first or second option on offense. He has thrived in a role where he can facilitate the offense, pass, play defense, rebound etc but he won't ever thrive in a role where he has to be a top scorer.

Agreed...but this is exactly why his draft stock is where it is at and most likely will stay.

Watching him now, and liked him before he shut down on us a little bit when he knew he was on his way out, but I miss Epps. He’s ballin for Gtown. Looks smooth and comfortable. Defense still looks to need some improvement, but still think he coulda had a real good four years here if he had bought in.

Thanks @DonFlan . Lots of "what might have been" in those numbers. Skyy and Epps, good riddance. Constant debate in my house between who we'd have liked to keep more, I am pro-Miller and my wife is pro-Curbelo.

On their best night, I will concede that Andre has a higher ceiling. But give me Miller's consistency and levelheadedness (NO pun intended with Andre's injury, though I do feel he was often out of control long before the concussion). Just keep Adam's handlers away please.

FWIW, Belo is averaging the lowest TO per game of his career so far at 2.0. That's actually pretty good if he's the primary ball handler for them (and his 6.0 assists a game says he probably is). So maybe he has found some measure of control and consistency?

So far so good in 24. But that is a lot of missed games 21-23. Miller was healthy when he left, maybe he never gets the knee injury in Champaign. Curbelo has long-term concussion issues (again in 23 also) and we knew that while he was here. Not a slam dunk but I'd still keep Adam.

I loved Andre. Liked Adam till his terrible decision. Sad for both.

He’s really gotten into great shape. He looks svelte.
I miss the dancing bear. He does look like he's in great shape.

DD has an innate ability to score around the rim, and it looks like his defense has improved. He was probably disappointed in the playing time he got last season but wish he was still with the Illini.

I was hoping to see a behind the back dribble after the steal in those highlights.

DD was always a master at dominating lesser competition.

I hope:
1. He continues to do so and that the lower level of competition Memphis plays allows him to feast.

And

2. He starts doing it against high majors as well.

DD made us mid major upset proof last year and I’ll always think of him fondly for his performance in the first weekend of the dance.
