God I want this guy to make it, but as someone who has taught and coached for 25 years, seen this over and over. There is no easy answer, but I wish Mr. Curbelo the best and always have. He has had a ton of help that many have never had and he may need more. Regardless, I'm rooting for him!

Man, this honestly sucks. Curbelo had so much ffffffffffing talent. Some people can't get out of their own way and its the biggest tragedy.
what could have been with this kid... All went down hill after his concussion.

Curbelo was dismissed from the Southern Mississippi team.

Just maybe he always seems to pick the wrong women/s.
But does it really have to do with the concussion? Do we know if he was always a loose cannon that just came across as fun, but really was uncoachable? Is that why he came to Illinois when he could have/should have e been aiming at better programs (at the time)?
Not too surprising, it seemed like he got suspended often by USM.

I’ve seen it mentioned before that Curbelo needs a no-nonsense Alpha that is unquestionably better than him along with laser focused, older teammates that force him to toe the line.
His freshman year he had that in Ayo along with Trent and DMW.
When Ayo left, Andre tried to become the Alpha and was left to his own leadership/personality devices.
Not sure if that is a plausible explanation, but knowing Ayo and crew, I could see it.

Am always grateful for the time he spent in the O&B cause no way we would have won the B1G Tourney last year without his service in the post especially when our shots weren’t falling.
He has really been playing well the last 5 games. The announcers said he was averaging about 18 points a game over that time period. Could have really used him the last 10 games or so.
Dain would be a pretty good fit back here at Illinois, I agree. For example, on the season, Dain has yet to make a three, which when you think about it, isn't much different from what a bunch of our guys have achieved.
Ooops! Dain also hasn't attempted a three yet! So that wouldn't fit here. No wonder he had to be moved along. (just in case: /s)
