Lets just save time & induct AC into the college basketball HOF right now.
If you can't handle people being happy a former Illini is doing well may I suggest ignoring this thread in favor of pretty much any other thread on this site?

Funny to me the same people who didn't want Belo on our team can't stop themselves from complaining about him even when he's not here anymore.

St. John’s fans now experiencing what we went through:

From the NY Post:
It is a fascinating team, led by newcomer Andre Curbelo, a big-time talent who can also cause fans to pull their hair out. Like this team in general, Curbelo can be brilliant one moment and mistake-prone the next. He can slice through defenders and make passes that only a handful of players in the country can deliver, but he will also commit unnecessary, and sometimes careless, turnovers.

That’s his calling card. We will see how he does as the season wears on.

If he has unlocked his 3 pt shot (currently shooting over 50%) he will be very tough to stop and the passing/driving lanes will be wide open.

Basically, what we wanted when he was here if that darn concussion hadn’t thrown a wrench in the plan.

Wanted Belo on the team, Not complaining about him not being here, just think it is ridiculous tp idolize him after he's gone. You are right- this will be the last time I read this particular thread, Happy Thanksgiving.

For me, I enjoy watching the success of players who went to other programs, as it adds more emphasis on the developmental prowess of our staff. We've watched these men for one or more years, and I have some emotional investment in seeing them succeed, and feel a little pride when they do great.

Agreed, unless it’s a Mark Smith situation, of course… 🧻

Interesting how much traffic this thread gets when we always had defections but never a thread for their post Illini lives.
I guess the portal is part of it, but maybe some remorse on some of the went away, got away and got sent away the last two years ?

I root for Illini commits, even those who transfer. Not Mark Smith, but that’s just because of the douchey manner of his exit.
IMO all the active former Illini are getting more playing time at their new schools than they would with this year’s team. Adam Miller probably would be a major contributor on this team though.
