I think we’re a similar team as last year. Last year was very lucky to be 10-3. I don’t see us as a top 10 team.

We’re a competitive Big 10 team. But a dominant team, one of the best in the nation? No. We play close games and luck will determine the final record

We did not play up to our #11 national ranking that half. Last season we were effective at halftime adjustments to take control down the stretch. Hope that pattern carries over this year. Plenty of room for improvement, our opening drive this half will tell us a lot.

Luke has missed some routine passes over the middle to quick hits. Gotta hit those. Need to have a good series coming out of the half. Negative rushing yards at half and the TFLs clearly establish Duke's dominance in the trenches. Maybe we are bit overhyped - this really surprises me.

Terrible way to end half. Undisciplined penalties in red zone area always kill.

Illini are fortunate to be up at half. Without the two takeaways, this board would be in meltdown mode.

I expect Coach B to have the boys ready for a much cleaner half. We need to start getting the run game going. Also way too many sacks allowed.

Really going to need a good drive to start 2nd half.

Only thing I'd add is that Luke is also killing Luke by not sensing pressure quickly enough and throwing the ball away. Two of those first half sacks are on him

I think the players thought like I did. Duke isn't that good. I think this wake up call is going to be followed by a great second half.

But hats off to Duke. Much better than I expected.

terrible penalty by the Illini giving puke 4 extra points.................14-13 Illini @ the half.........we are finally showing better pace and production on offense with Luke hitting many different receivers .....need to get the running game going to make the puke D respect those plays....not doing it so far and I worry about all the hits Luke is taking so far..........

play like the # 11 ranked team in this 2nd half and get the win guys.......You can do it , you really really can...........LET'S GO ILLINI !!!

I think Feagin is wasted at running back. I don’t see much there. Would rather he switch positions but probably too late for that. He’s too slow with no vision for RB.

I’m not listening to the game on TV of course. But I don’t know what happened to our offensive line because we can’t run it with -5 yards and we can get nothing open.

IIRC, Duke blew up the Barge on that play, which honestly shouldn’t happen on short yardage. Just bad execution.

Bret with the “stupid play in last minute” comment to the sideline reporter.
