I think the difference is that they’re fired up and we’re not. Sure, coaching, but they’re just taking this game/rivalry/proof more serious than we are.
Line make him overthrow Beatty? Make him hold the ball 11 seconds for a throw away? Make him nearly give a pick 6 the first play? He's not the whole problem. Hasn't been the answer either...
We’re not going to start this just yetWe’re not that good. It’s ok. 8-4 is respectable. Not sure we can get to the 10/11 win seasons we all want consistently.
Really bad game for special teams. Solid F. Butterfly effect type stuff, but if that unit didn't lay a complete egg to start the game this game might have turned out much different. Can't do that- gave them 14pts.IU is a very solid team with a super annoying fanbase.
Simply put, the Illini needed to play a really solid game to have a chance on the road. Exactly the worst case scenario happened across the board.
Special teams - bad
Offense - line play struggled (big concern coming in)
Secondary- exposed depth and lost another key players to a very questionable targeting
The second half will be important to see the maturity of the team. The game is probably completely out of reach, but this was always a coin flip game at best.
Don't give up on this team next week!
Luke looks very rattled
Remember when 8 wins was an unreachable goal? Like 3 years ago? We’re not that good. It’s ok. 8-4 is respectable. Not sure we can get to the 10/11 win seasons we all want consistently.
some of those sacks have been on him.Luke isn’t the problem. He literally has zero blocking.
I appreciate the optimism lolIn just gonna say it - Illinois comes back and wins 45-38
It will happen eventually, just not this year. We’re not that good. It’s ok. 8-4 is respectable. Not sure we can get to the 10/11 win seasons we all want consistently.
Maybe IU is really good? As much as we'd hate to say it...
This is one of those games that will either destroy our season, or we’ll get better and have a great run.
I’m not optimistic at this point.
