I thought being beat by Michigan 57-0 in 1969 was bad. This is worse. This is the worst I’ve ever seen Illinois play. Period. The worst, Defense is dreadful.

I think the point is, even if they’re top 5, we need to be able to at least compete with the top teams.getting blown away like this shows we are not near that level. Period.

I don’t care if this is repetitive at this point…but there is no such thing as a good football team with a bad offensive line. We have a good HC. We have a solid defense (when healthy). We have a nice running back room, a decent WR room & a solid quarterback. We have a POOR offensive line and there is no making up for that. Everything else is moot when the unit up front lacks quality.

8-4 is a far cry from that.

Let’s not move the goal posts on what success was defined as this year just a few short hours ago.

You can go back to the preseason prediction thread and look at kford and sp+ rankings and a lot of them had 8-4 as the most likely outcome
