I believe it was stated that the Illini are only allowing 62 points a game. I expect Iowa to get a little more than that in the upper 60's or low 70s. I feel if we can score more that 74 we win. Lets go Illini!

Will be interesting who guards Iowa's JT? He loves to drive... he and Garza can pick a team apart if we dont have D that is prepared.
If we can control those two from getting hot or having their way... I think we will have a chance.

Games at Carver this year result in a greater foul differential than at any other arena in the Big Ten. That’s what worries me.
This is huge. Garza initiates so much contact that with now being the "no flop" to draw attention to it now it needs to be called. I have watched Iowa a lot and for some reason Garza draws the foul instead of being called on him. Georgi does this but it seems he gets called for it. more often than Garza does. I just hope it is consistent. . It just doesnt seem to work out that way for other bigs like ours and others. Maybe its just me because i am usually hoping Iowa loses. I hope when Kofi stands his ground Garza doesnt get those BS calls.

Iowa is going to score. They play with much more tempo than we do. I don't see us controlling tempo on the road especially with the way the refs usually are in Iowa City. We're going to need to go over 70 to win this game.

Decourcy now has us as a 4-seed in the South! Top 16.

Finally, a return to the good ol' days!!!!!

Don't believe I've yet weighed-in. And I'm digging into the past for this one. 1984 - believe we came from nowhere with all of our Sophomores and finished in a tie with Purdue for #1 in the Big 10 at 15-3......Winters, Douglas, Altenberger and group, enroute to our Elite 8 run. I'm starting to think we're on that type of roll. Can't stop the momentum now!

ILLINI 66
IOWA 63

Defense is key. Iowa is not a deep team. Let's go inside and get them in foul trouble.

I'm as nervous as I have been for an Illini basketball game in years. The GLORY we could achieve with a win today is just so great, lol. Winning our eighth straight in Iowa City vs. a top 20 Iowa team that WHOOPED us twice last year? That is as big time as it gets all regular season, period. I want this one SO badly. This will be a Herculean task for our guys, but until they break this streak ... I gotta keep the faith. I am fully on the bandwagon for this Illini squad, and a loss today does not in any way dampen my enthusiasm. However ... this one would just be monumental.

An inspired Illini effort leads to...

Illinois 77
Iowa 73

I want this one for the team, I want this one for me, but I want this one for you too, FIghter of the Nightman!

Jimmy Jackson has slowly been jumping on the ILLINI train too. Katz, DeCourcy, Dakich, Jackson, Vitale............has anyone else been singing our praises of late? Gotta love it!!
