At this point I like to see some bench players sprinkled in on offense and defense

I think he'll definitely help. That said, I think the biggest issue is we have a giant void at linebacker. I'm not sure if it's due to lack of talent, or lack of scheming, or both, but our LBs through 2 games have played the worst of any group I can remember us having. And we're talking the lean Turner years and the Beckman years. They've been awful.
