The good news…. We’ve taken their best shot and are only down seven. Definitely a winnable game, but we’ve got to make some serious adjustments in the second half. Come out like we did against UCLA.
So who will show up in the 2nd half besides cohawk?

This team is actually playing like a team that actually believes there's a curse on them when playing Maryland. I posted earlier, it'd be different. I was wrong.
The bad news, we're down 7.
The eh news, could've easily been down 10.
The good news, we have the team to score 7 in a minute, on purpose.
Basically we just need to get better closeouts on D and we're good.

Maryland much better at generating half court offense. Steals and MD TOs gotta us back in it. Not going to win many in the B10 giving up 40+ in a half.
Crowd was a major factor...B1G road can sometimes be unbeatable.
Defense and rebounding. Brad will straighten it out.

I don't see the switching as the issue, it's just been bad weakside help.
Road games in the B1G against top 25 teams are a difficult challenge for anyone...as we know from the past 100 years.
Our last turnover was a blown opportunity and if they had hit that three it would really sucked. Gotta score to start the half and cut it to 4 or 5. Man a bucket on that last one for us would have been nice and had a shot to get with in a possession.
We have the type of team to cut this to 2 at SOME POINT in the 2nd half, I believe that, but it’s how we respond after that. Maryland will go cold at some point. It’s about how we respond from there. I actually think we gave them fits with Dain in drop coverage and Coleman on the floor for size and rebounding. I’d look for more of that in the 2nd half. We can not be soft on the boards if we want to win this game. Let’s have a 2nd half against UCLA in College Park tonight.
What team were you talking about that started 4 kids 6'6" or better and a 5'1" point guard.
This. We are getting out hustled for 50:50 balls and they are hot from 3. More aggressive D and this game is winnable.

This is the bottom line, we have to play our best to win a game like this and we are not. Our young guards are not helping us in half court sets.
Combine getting out-rebounded by a hot shooting team with only 4 assists and 7 turnovers and that is a tough half to win.
