SEC lets them do it so it is what it is. They'll host Chattanooga next season around this time and do the same against Mercer in 2024.

For the FCS schools, it's not as big of an issue as this is their final regular season weekend with the FCS playoffs starting next weekend. Austin Peay is seen as a fringe bubble team at best for the FCS playoffs so only some miraculous upset of the Tide would get them in at this point.
