It’s just fundamental errors over and over and over and over again. Physically, the team has enough to compete. Just poor execution all the time. Sad.

The coaches suck. Fire them all.

I think AJ Bush covered up a lot of sins last year. Now it's becoming apparent just. How. Much. Further. they have to go

Imagine if the defense wasn't on the field for 90% of the game. We should be blaming the offense way more than the defense. Hell the defense got us most of our points today. Imagine if Smalling could catch a ball.

I mean. Really? You’re gonna blame this tenure on injuries.
It was not a tenure question..it was the first play of the second half question. Injuries have hurt this team....Roundtree, Beason, playing a cornerback not even here for training camp...but that is on Lovie....no depth

First half
Min 35 plays - 247 yrds 7yrds a play
The defense still sucks
IL offense 39 plays - 155 yrds 4 yrds a play
The offense still sucks

This team plain sucks. The fault isn't the offense alone nor the defense alone. They both SUCK
We need to replace the coaching staff while there is still enough talent to attract a decent HC. Lovie and his cohorts aren't getting it done.

Ok.....where is this "enough talent" that you speak of? Outside of Corbin, who will be gone after this year....I don't see an irreplaceable player on the roster. Wait, maybe the kicker. He's solid.

Imagine if the defense actually grabbed a guy that runs right into them. I mean seriously our guys go down with a slight brush and our defense can't put anybody on the ground to save their lives let alone cover anybody out for a pass.

This team will not win another game with Lovie as coach. Purdue? No way. Rutgers? Nope. It's over. The sooner Whitman admits that to himself the better. But he may not be around to make that call.

... and there’s another basic mistake with DB Joseph letting the TE get behind him for 6. Terrible.

Can’t wait for Basketball Season, they’ll probably disappoint us there as well but it’ll be much better than this pathetic bs
I can’t wait, either. I don’t think they’ll disappoint. It’s just sad that we’re reduced to this “I can’t wait” stuff. I really wanted LOVIEBALL to succeed. It’s not. Sigh.

Outskilled vs out-schemed . If the latter the coach must go. (The former too because its several yrs in)

I speak for myself especially, but probably most everyone else on this board in saying this
Why do we as a fan base invest so much time into Illinois athletics just to be disappointed every single year? The Basketball team needs to have a strong year to keep my spirit somewhat alive for the next couple years.

don't forget the overworked punter!

It meets your narrative. We have had injuries at safety all year causing constant changing of personnel in the backfield

Do coaches not plan for such situations? Lovie had three years to recruit. Given his name and fame, he should have pulled in some good kids. Now he has a bad run at IL. No one is going to look at the injury list - just the W-L.

Small thing on that last play. I didn’t see a single person on the sideline going nuts for an interference call. Seems like the team and coaches just don’t care. Sad.

The talent has been middle of the pack(recruiting wise) for 3 years now. We have athletic players that are out of position on D almost every play. How do you not see that these defensive coaches SUCK! We could also have a few more sustained drives if Smalling could catch a football.

I've said it many times. I'm afraid that not one admin or BOT member above Josh Whitman gives a sh&t about the athletics programs. Until that changes, we fans have to put up with this kind of crap year after year.
