Unfortunately, the type of player Andrej is(as much as I like him) is what happens when you change schools - and therefore, coaches, philosophy, and systems - like you change your socks. 🤷

It's mostly bust. Outside of his 30 point game, it's been lackluster. He seems to me to be the odd man out, doesn't really fit in with what they want to do.

Really? They have made 11 threes… at halftime
Yes, really. Nebraske as made more 3s against our MTM than our zone. They don't use a "pick and pop" the us a pick a curl. We need to protect the ball a little more.

The aggressive run ‘em off the line zone was actually pretty effective u til the twins got back screened.

Seemed like we couldn’t rotate faster than they moved the ball to me, was why there were so many wide open shots. Stay in man and make them run/move, can switch to zone for a few possessions to throw them a changeup though, for sure.

When you make the most money on the team and not playing like it,there’s always a tendency to try forcing things…..

That wasn’t because of zone, they barely scored when we were consistently playing zone. When they went back to Man, Nebraska went crazy. They want us to chase players through screens, that’s how they get open. The last couple of possessions of zone were horrible because Andrej missed coverage, which is why Underwood was so pissed.

If Keaton shakes off his poor shooting in the second half, Andres sits the rest of the way, and we can figure a way to keep Nebby from raining open 3s, this game is very winnable. We were playing well until that end of half collapse when they went on a 14-2 run and we channeled our inner Three Stooges.
What we looked like, and how in tune with each other we were the last couple minutes of that half:

first segment here is key or this could get ugly quick

It’d be nice if Stojakovic could not be the worst player on the floor, especially with he’s being paid.

They made more 3s against the man because of the barrage of moderately defended shots in the last 3:30, every shot vs zone there was nobody within 5 feet of the shooter

We were doing well until Mirk and Andrej decided to try and beat the double team 4 times in a row down the floor that turned into 0 points. When we were passing out around and finding the open man is when we built the lead.

Well, he's been bust more than 50% of the year, and double figures in only 1 of last 5 B10 games against a terrible Maryland team.

Was more due to them making shots than anything, those were at least moderately defended. The zone was giving wide open 3s.

Odd in that this team doesn't give up big runs...

If we can get calls in the lane when they are fouling Andre or Keaton then its gonna be tough. Nebraska was hacking keaton and andre and 0 fts for em

Maybe pass a step sooner on these drives? We need to drive to open the threes, but we've been losing it inside.
And have they found a way to turn Keaton's low release point into kryptonite?
