Can't really blame our D with so many guys out. I thought they played a really good 1st half.

I'm done in a lot of ways. Tired of seeing incompetency, tired of losing, tired of being openly mocked. JW, fix it.
God that would be awful. It would be different if it was an execution type of issue. Unfortunately, It's a lack of preparation, lack of adjustment, lack of coaching type of issue.

40 yrs here.( continuous, had them off and on in the 70s). Missed one home game since 81 season. E-mail to JW mon. And telling him exactly that. Know it won't do any good because my annual donation is not big enough, but I 'm done. I don't have enough fall Saturdays left to waste them on this crap.
Thank God Lovie was so focused on game prep. It is showing! This team is clearly well-pre ... oh we’re losing by 25 in the third? Never mind.

Illinois fired Lou Tepper during his 5th season, after losing to Ohio State 48-0. Tepper stayed on the job to coach two more games to finish the season. Tepper’s teams went to 2 bowl games in 5 years (Holiday, Liberty). Tepper finished at Illinois with a record of 25-31-2.

I agree. Budget constraints, Covid, and they will project out 3 wins they didn’t get from OOC to believe 6-7 and 5-7 level seasons are acceptable.
I think Lovie needed to go 0-9 or 1-8 in the Big 10 to be fired. 2 or 3 wins (depending on who they play next week) will keep him. There’s never been an urgency to win at Illinois.
On a day where passing would be tough I’m glad we took away their run game. Should be able to hold them under 450 yards rushing
this is Lovie yr #5, no excuses, we are not relevant. Pay somebody else 5mil and start getting value for it.
Maybe JW will give Lovie another extension to help with recruiting! ☹
Other teams have to deal with same issues that we do. No excuses to keep Lovie and the staff around.
I think for Illinois being respectable means no player arrests or scandals. Record doesn’t mean anything. If records mattered the women’s basketball coach would have been fired already. She’s 4-48 in the Big 10.
Exactly. It's not just the losing, but the looking horribly unprepared every week, and the total lack of apparent concern to clean things up or get better.
