3 for 7 from the ft line doesn't win away games.

Up by 3 at half on the road with foul trouble, terrible FT shooting, GB not scoring, TF on the bench for a stretch in a pretty ugly game so far.... I'll take it

Looked pretty disorganized on the last play, worried about our guard depth , foul trouble may bite us in the 2nd half.

If I am OSU I drive the ball and look to win it from the FT line, these refs will accomodate them, IL needs to quit feeding GB b/c he can’t push Wesson deep enough to get a good shot, drive and pitch oit for 3s

Need Feliz, Jordan, Ayo, Griffin, Jones to have big nights if Trent doesn’t come back. Would be a hell of a road win given the circumstances.

This. Missing the front end on many of them. At the end of the game when people are griping about the inequity of the free throws, keep in mind the opportunities lost.

I think that last long hook attempt by Giorgi was product of the zone … If we can get OSU out of the zone, then I think GB can work the inside. If he can't back Wesson down, then he'll go around him.

Tevian needs to contribute. Liked Griffin. Ohio State played a brutal half, not likely to repeat

Feliz looked like a clog to the offense out there sometimes, also when Ohio state got up on us like we do them, we lost our offensive flow

the national

the Front Range
came in late from work. It looks like we have been hanging on so far. Both teams seemed sluggish. Its almost like both coaches are over-caoching at this point - trying to do too much. Like in the rutgers game, give it to giorgi with an occasional pop-out for 3

Really bad end to half. Should have put TJ back out there for individual play possibility.

I hadn't really thought of us as being thin at guard positions before. Now that I'm watching how AG dribbles, I realize how much we depend on having a wing who can do some dribbling. Gotta be either AJ or TJ to pick up ball handling (if they can), when Feliz is out of it and one of AYO and Trent have to be out. Tyler just can't serve the function.

Illinois #222 in nation for free throw shooting behind Northwestern, northern -eastern -& western Illinois, Illinois state, Chicago state, & DePaul. Which coach is responsible for free throw shooting? It has been horrible. Wouldn’t we be at least .500 if we could make free throws?

I wish Giorgi would look to shoot those 3 point shot occasionally. Maybe the coaching staff have told him not to shoot 3's, but he needs to at least make himself a threat.

No offense, but we have shooters for that. Next year hopefully.

Giorgi needs to go quickly around Wesson - he's not going to move him much and by the time he tries, help is coming.

Also, they are overplaying the guards on the weave - how about a few back doors guys to loosen them up?

Obviously, but being a threat and at least looking as if he will shoot it is important. I didn't say he needed to shoot it, just be a threat.

Glad you mentioned that. Going back to beginning of the year, I thought it was common belief that Giorgi was reasonably capable 3pt shooter (thought the Underwood considered him such), but it seems now like Giorgi isn't capable of 3pt shot. And he doesn't look great in mid range. What am I missing?
