I hope everyone is happy with 6 wins. Because we are about to repeat 2022 in the second half of the season. If this team doesn’t come out with their head on fire, the rest of the season will crash down hard.

As coach, where do you start?

We're clearly witnessing two different classes of football team today, but performance is exacerbating the discrepancy. Can't imagine a much worse way for the first half to have gone. Injuries (to bodies and to confidence) could be costly, moving forward. With so much left to play for this season, this is my main concern.

My vote is Lunney. Always.
You can make a strong argument for Lunney, but man…. Everyone and their mother has been saying that Aaron Henry needs to pressure Oregon to give the Illini defense a chance and that Dillion and the Ducks like playing against man defense to motion teams out of coverage and Aaron has done his usual rush 3 and play man. Just seems like he doesn’t prep contingency plans against teams and doesn’t really know what else to do except his tried and true 1 way of doing things.

On the saturday morning sports show tate was saying that we’re the only school that allots more NIL dollars to the basketball program than to the football program. I guess we get what we pay for.

This really is it in this new world.

This game will either get some more NIL flowing or we’re stuck where we’re at and can look forward to these beat downs when we play Oregon or tOSU.

I’ve been trying to watch from a phone, out with family.

What have been the major injuries so far?

Don't disagree. Defense has been either fantastic or abysmal. Offense had been constantly good or mediocre. Just depends if you prefer extremes or middle ground.

We will be 6-2 after this with four very winnable games. We’ve just started being respectable but Oregon has been recruiting at a high level for a long time. We’re in a much better place than we’ve been for a long time

This is the same Oregon team that only scored 35 points in the entire game against Purdue (a team that has fully imploded).

I am OK with this. I would rather be tier 1 in one sport and tier 3 in another than low tier 2 in both. In the current NCAA, you have to make decisions on which players to buy based on your available dollars. We do not have the available dollars to do both, like tO$U and Oregon do.

When feagin wwnt down, it has changed our demeanor. Laughery is not a B10 back, love getting illinois kids, but it's a bruisers game. Without feagin, nobody is fearing our run game and now it affects our passing game. The look on Oregon running backs faces to annihilate our LB and safeties is what B10 running is about.

Just wish we could have kept it competitive.. Oregon clearly just has the elite athletes that we don’t have.. nothing u can do scheme wise in this game, just try to get 9-10 wins with these winnable games left on the schedule and use that momentum for recruiting and NIL
